*STRENGTH FOR MY DAYS*
A Daily Devotional Guide by Bishop David Bakare

*Nevertheless*

Wednesday, 12 October 2022

*SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY:*

*2 Samuel 5: 6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.*

*5: 7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.*

*5: 8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.*

*5: 9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.*

*MEMORY VERSE: Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.* 2 Samuel 5: 7

In a bid to unify the northern and southern tribes of Israel, David opted for a capital in Jerusalem, that would be mutually acceptable. It was considered a neutral territory because it stood at the borders of the tribes of Benjamin and Judah, and it was still occupied by the Jebusites, a Cannnite tribe that had not been expelled from the land (Judges 1: 21). The Jebusites had a clear military advantage due to their security behind the impregnable walls (stronghold). Nevertheless David took the stronghold. He surprised them as he entered the city through the water tunnel, took over and renamed it the city of David.

Wouldn't you love God to write 'nevertheless' in your biography? Born a stammerer, nevertheless, he led a nation out of captivity. Born in a solitary manger, nevertheless, He got Himself a name that is above all names. He was imprisoned in Egypt, nevertheless, he became a prime minister in Egypt. He was named sorrow, nevertheless, he became honourable and had a city named after him. He was not a son of a prophet but a sheep breeder and a gatherer of sycamore fruit; nevertheless, he became a notable prophet in Israel.

We all need "Nevertheless" miracles and God has enough to go round in spite of the strongholds around us. You may be a prayer away from a "Nevertheless". You may be at a crossroads now; don't give up. In the middle of all difficulties lie opportunities. If obstacles must first be removed, nothing will be attempted. Be determined to rather lose in a cause you know will someday triumph than to triumph in a cause that someday will fail.

*MORE LESSON:*

*Philippians 3: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;*

*3: 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.*

*3: 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.*

*3: 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,*

*3: 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.*

*Prayer/Action:*

*** Ask God to grant you a ‘nevertheless’ miracle today.

*** Ask God to grant you the grace to stay on God’s Word no matter the prevailing situation.

*** Proclaim today is the day of answer to all your heart desires and prayer requests.

*TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER:*

Oh LORD, fan the flame of my destiny to fire today, in the wonderful name of Jesus

What to Know About Vaginal Itching

Medically reviewed by Michael Weber, M.D.— Written by Mary Ellen Ellis — Updated on July 22, 2020
Overview

Vaginal itching is an uncomfortable and sometimes painful symptom that often occurs due to irritating substances, infections, or menopause.
It may also occur as a result of certain skin disorders or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). In rare cases, va**nal itching might develop due to stress or v***ar cancer.
Most va**nal itching isn’t a cause for concern. However, you should contact your doctor or gynecologist if the itching is severe or if you suspect you have an underlying condition.
Your doctor can determine the cause of your va**nal itching through an examination and testing. They’ll also be able to recommend appropriate treatments for this uncomfortable symptom.
Causes of va**nal itching
Here some of the possible causes for itchiness of the va**na and the surrounding area.
Irritants
Exposing the va**na to irritating chemicals can cause va**nal itching. These irritants may trigger an allergic reaction that creates an itchy rash over various areas of the body, including the va**na. Common chemical irritants include:
*.soap
*.bubble baths
*.feminine sprays
*.douches
*.topical contraceptives
*.creams
*.ointments
*.detergents
*.fabric softeners
*.scented toilet paper
If you have diabetesor urinary incontinence, your urine may also cause va**nal irritation and itching.
Skin diseases
Some skin diseases, such as eczema and psoriasis, can cause redness and itching in the ge***al region.
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a rash that primarily occurs in people with asthma or allergies. The rash is reddish and itchy with a scaly texture. It may spread to the va**na in some women with eczema.
Psoriasisis a common skin condition that causes scaly, itchy, red patches to form along the scalp and joints. At times, outbreaks of these symptoms can occur on the va**na as well.
Yeast infection
Yeast is a naturally occurring fungus that’s normally present in the va**na. It usually doesn’t cause problems, but when its growth goes unchecked, an uncomfortable infection can result.
This infection is known as a va**nal yeast infection. It’s a very common condition, affecting 3 out of 4 women at some point in their lives, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The infection often occurs after taking a course of antibiotics, as these types of medications can destroy good bacteria along with the bad bacteria. The good bacteria are needed to keep yeast growth in check.
The overgrowth of yeast in the va**na can result in uncomfortable symptoms, including itching, burning, and lumpy discharge.
Bacterial vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis (BV)is another common reason for va**nal itching.
Like a va**nal yeast infection, BV is triggered by an imbalance between naturally occurring good and bad bacteria in the va**na.
The condition doesn’t always cause symptoms. When symptoms do appear, they typically include va**nal itching and an abnormal, foul-smelling discharge. The discharge may be thin and dull gray or white. In some cases, it might also be foamy.
Sexually transmitted diseases
Numerous STDs can be transmitted during unprotected sexual in*******se and cause itching in the va**na. These include:
*. chlamydia
*. ge***al warts
*. gonorrhea
*. ge***al herpes
*. trichomoniasis
These conditions can also cause additional symptoms, including abnormal growths, green or yellow va**nal discharge, and pain while urinating.
Menopause
Women who are going through menopauseor who have already done so are more at risk for va**nal itching.
This is due to the reduction of estrogen levels that occur during menopause, which leads to va**nal atrophy. This is a thinning of the mucosa that can lead to excessive dryness. The dryness can cause itching and irritation if you don’t get treatment for it.

Stress
Physical and emotional stress can cause va**nal itching and irritation, though this isn’t very common. It might occur when stress weakens your immune system, leaving you more prone to the infections that cause itching.
Vulvar cancer
In rare cases, va**nal itching may be a symptom of v***ar cancer. This is a type of cancer that develops in the v***a, which is the external part of the female’s ge***als. It includes the inner and outer lips of the va**na, the cl****is, and the opening of the va**na.
Vulvar cancer may not always cause symptoms. However, when symptoms do occur, they may include itching, abnormal bleeding, or pain in the v***ar area.
Vulvar cancer can be treated successfully if your doctor diagnoses it in the early stages. This is another reason that yearly gynecologist checkups are essential.
When to see your doctor about va**nal itching
It’s important to see your doctor for va**nal itching if the itching is severe enough to disrupt your daily life or sleep. Although most causes aren’t serious, there are some treatments that can decrease the discomfort of va**nal itching.
You should also contact your doctor if your va**nal itching persists for more than one week or if your itching occurs along with the following symptoms:
*.ulcers or blisters on the v***a
*.pain or tenderness in the ge***al area
*.ge***al redness or swelling
*.trouble urinating
*.an unusual va**nal discharge
*.discomfort during sexual in*******se

Home remedies for va**nal itching
You can prevent most causes of va**nal itching through good hygiene and lifestyle habits. There are several steps you can take at home to prevent va**nal irritation and infection:

Five Tips to Turn Your Passion into a Successful Business

Are you sitting in your cubicle daydreaming of escaping the corporate grind to start your own business? Do you play with different ideas, but struggle to find one that could actually make you a living?
I’m here to tell you that you are overthinking it. Here are five tips to help you leverage what you loveinto a new path.
1) Side-launch or side hustle.
More often than not, it’s beneficial to keep your day job when you first start out. You don’t want to put everything on the line, because new endeavors are often filled with uncertainty. You should start small by building confidence, knowledge, and experience before you go all-in. If you quit your job based on your passion, you may put yourself in a vulnerable position.
Take your time. It’s important to properly vet the market for the product or service you are offering. Be sure your idea solves a problem and/or adds value. You want to offer something that is indispensable. Make sure there are enough people out there who need your product or service and that they are willing to pay for it.
Start by focusing on your potential business at night and on the weekends. See how it grows and develops. When you start small, you have the opportunity to see if this is truly something you enjoy. You don’t want to drain your savings account, only to find out that your business isn’t something you actually like doing.
The main difference between a passion project and a real business is sales and revenue. Give yourself time to test the viability of your potential business.

2) Treat it like a business.
When starting your own business, it can be hard to stay motivated and organized. Unlike the typical 9-to-5, entrepreneurs setting off on their own don't have anyone telling them what to do or when to do it. It’s also easy to lose focus and forget to prioritize your side hustle when it’s not yet making you money.
It’s important to treat your new endeavor as a professional business right from the start. Set yourself a work schedule with weekly goals, just as you would in your day job. When interacting with customers and clients, ensure you act professionally. You can start off on the the right foot by using platforms like HoneyBookor 17hats. These programs help users organize their workflow and interact with clients more efficiently.

3) Launch platforms.
There was once a time when, in order to launch a business, you had to have a physical brick-and-mortar location (especially for retail operations). But having a physical location often comes with a high price tag that can be daunting for startups. Now, however, there are a number of tools available for entrepreneurs that will allow you to reach consumers without high startup costs.
These online tools can help you do everything from advertising your business inexpensively to connecting with new clients. But one of the greatest benefits of online tools is being able to sell products at minimal cost. Websites like Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, and eBay let you sell your products without first having to build your own e-commerce website.

4) Get support.
A number of organizations have been created to help startups, entrepreneurs, and other small businesses. Among them is the U.S. Small Business Administration. This governmental organization has set up a number of Small Business Development Centers in states across the country, offering resources like business plan development, manufacturing assistance, financial lending assistance, procurement and contracting aid, market research help, and healthcare guidance. Another organization offering assistance is SCORE, a national nonprofit that pairs entrepreneurs with business mentors.
Startups should also take advantage of coworking spaces. In addition to serving as great working environments, many coworking spaces offer resources and learning opportunities for members. Additionally, many are tailored toward specific categories of entrepreneurship and their unique needs. Hera Hubis a coworking space and business accelerator for women, with locations around the country.
5) Tell everyone.
Since I recommend you side-launch the business, it’s important for you to find a balance between getting the word out to potential customers and clients and maintaining your job security. You shouldn’t worry about starting to leak information, but to ensure your employers don’t start to question your dedication, it’s important to stress that this is a “side project” when talking about it.
Once you’ve made a point of emphasizing that this is a side hustle, don’t hesitate to share your new endeavor with your coworkers, friends, and family. Add it to your email signature, post it to social media, and perhaps even consider writing a press release. Tell as many people as you can as fast as you can. You never know where new business is going to come from. The wider you spread your message, the quicker you will grow.
