Be Part of the Solution
Be part of the solution, not the problem!
If you’re great at identifying problems, you should also be able to offer valuable solutions.
And even if you’re not the one identifying the complications, strive to be a great problem-solver, offering quick and clear ways to resolve a specific issue.

The first commercially successful oil well was drilled in 1859 by Edwin Laurentine Drake (1819-1880). His success began the Pennsylvania oil rush of the second half of the 19th century.
_
He used a steam engine to power his drill, and his great innovation was to line the hole with cast iron pipe and drill through the pipe down below the bedrock.
_
The pipe prevented the deep hole from collapsing in on itself.
This became known as the “Drake Well” method, a system essentially still used today.
_
Drake’s drill bit found oil at a depth of 69.5 feet.
Cheers to a new month and another chance to get it right.

Crude oil pipeline transportation.
Crude pipeline transportation was first proposed to oil companies in 1863 by the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev.
He argued that burning oil in furnaces in the vicinity of producing fields is ineffective, and instead, should be transported to main centres of consumption for refining and use.

Did you know that base oil is produced by means of refining crude oil?
During the refining process, crude oil is distilled into light and heavy hydrocarbons.
The light oils can be refined to make petrol and other fuels, while the heavier oils are suitable for bitumen and base oils.
Base oils are used to manufacture a variety of products, including lubricating greases, motor oil, and metal processing fluids.
Additives are added to the base oil in order to meet the quality requirements for the end products in terms of friction and cleaning properties.
Certain types of motor oils contain more than twenty percent additives.
One day you will thank yourself for never giving up.

Establish team rules
“Rules?” I hear you thinking, “that doesn’t sound fun at all.” Think again. Rules don’t have to be a dampener, but they do have to exist to keep everyone aligned.
Rules are everywhere - on the sports field, in daily interactions - and they exist to keep everyone safe and on the same page. How can we more forward together if we don’t know where we stand? Rules will safeguard the success and productivity of a team.
Establishing rules early is best, but be willing to consider changing them if they’re hindering rather than helping the team. You can write them down or just chat about them openly. Either way, you should be clear on why they exist and ask for contributions/feedback from everyone.

Career Success: 10 Tips on How to Be Successful at Work
4. Create solutions
Everyone can turn their problems into their manager's problems. Be the solution provider, not the problem creator. Great employees solve problems.
If you don't have the authority to give the final verdict on a problem relevant to your work or department, then make sure you offer solutions to your boss and try to help as much as you can, wholeheartedly.

6. Be Accountable
As Big Bird himself famously crooned, “Everyone makes mistakes.” Errors are a fact of life. In most cases, they’re recoverable. What’s not recoverable? Making a mistake and putting the blame on another co-worker. If you miss a deadline or mess up an assignment, own it.
Conversely, when co-workers miss deadlines or mess up assignments, don’t sell them out to management. Give them the opportunity to remedy their mistakes, and offer your assistance along the way. Your support when they need it now may mean their support when you need it later.

Ways to Improve Work Performance and Advance Your :
1. Understand the company’s goals
The first step to ensuring you succeed in your job is understanding your employer’s goals, and the company’s vision. The worst thing you can do for your career is to spend years with a company without ever knowing what they’re all about.
Make it a point to inform yourself of the company’s goals by reading up on the company’s mission statement and asking supervisors and colleagues for their input.
This will help you understand how your role impacts those goals in the grand scheme of things – and what you can do to better contribute to these goals.

‘I’ll do it later’ or ‘I don’t have the energy to do it now’ are common sayings in my head 🧠
But, this week I’m making a conscious effort to get small tasks done sooner rather than later to avoid feeling overwhelmed and anxious 😬
Here’s a few tips on how you can train your brain to not put off tasks…
1. Before you say it… think, how long will this actually take me to complete and how accomplished will I feel when it it done? ❓
2. If you do not have the time I complete the task right now- try breaking it down into sections + start a smaller section of it. Write down what’s left to complete so that you don’t forget 🖊
3. Remember the quote- ‘Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today’- Benjamin Franklin
Let today's strong performance be your starting point for tomorrow.
Have a fruitful week ahead.
