Happy birthday to Dr. Chima Wokocha, the indefatigable Dean of Students' Affairs, University of Port Harcourt. Wishing you the very best sir.

Message of Commendation to the entire Staff, students and stakeholders of the University of Port Harcourt
Thursday, 10th February, 2022

We received with immense happiness the news of the latest 2022 World University rankings in which we made tremendous improvement in our world rankings and maintained our national ranking.
We wish to put it on record that this feat wouldn’t have been possible without the Great Grace of God and the untiring efforts of ALL staff with no exemption, students and stakeholders in doing things differently and rightly now more than ever before and contributing tremendously in their respective stations in and outside the University.
We are INDEED very PROUD of all the staff, students and stakeholders of this great and unique University.
We Urge us all NEVER to RELENT but to continue in this great strides and continue to write the name of our beloved University of Port Harcourt in GOLD.
We thank you all
TOGETHER WE RISE

Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt

Members of the University of Port Harcourt Community appreciate the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Chima Wokocha, for his timely intervention during the pandemonium between the students and the police last weekend. He stood his ground and made sure no student was treated unjustly by the police despite their threats to detain him. Those blockades along East West Road have really made life difficult for the average student and staff of the University of Port Harcourt. We take unnecessary turns, burn extra energy even when the reason for the blockades has faded out. We have approached the police for a peaceful resolution several times but to no avail. Finally, the blockades have been removed after the confrontation. Freedom cometh by struggle. Aluta Continua! Victoria Ascerta!

Happy Eid el-Maulud
Tuesday, 19th October, 2021

Eid el-Maulud as we know is the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. it is not only a time for merry making but a period for sober reflection and devotion. We urge our Muslim brothers to use the occasion to ponder deeply and renew their commitment to their faith in God and abide with the teachings of Islam on sacrifice, patience and fellowship.

Muslims and indeed the citizenry, irrespective of faith or creed should use this opportunity to renew their faith and pray for peaceful coexistence amongst all religions.
Happy Eid el-Maulud to all our Muslim staff, students and stakeholders.

God bless us all
Long live the University of Port Harcourt.

Welcome to a new week in the University of Port Harcourt.
Monday, September 27th, 2021.

We heartily welcome all staff and students to a new week in the University of Port Harcourt.

The start of every new week is an opportunity to do something amazing. It's the time to ask ourselves if we are doing things the way we ought to do at our various work schedules. If we are, then fine, but if we are not, then there's room for a change in our attitude to our work schedules. The overall interest is growth of the University in a positive direction.

It's a brand new week, we urge us all to be the very best version of ourselves that we can be. Instead of discussing what it means to be good persons at work, let's just simply be good persons at work.

A week may seem like small amount of time but if we use that time to change few things about our work schedules that we are not doing rightly, we will unquestionably see the difference in our work output.

This week we will commence the next step in our search for Substantive Registrar and Substantive University Librarian as interviews will hold for shortlisted candidates. We urge us all to pray God to direct these activities.

Here's wishing us all a happy new week and to also remind us that as we work hard to make our University greater let us also find time to relax and enjoy and be in top health at all times.

For this administration, if you hear or see something please say something. We will give listening ears to any issue raised.

God bless the University of Port Harcourt
God bless Nigeria
