Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor holds Town Hall Meeting with Ohuhu clan, discloses his developmental agenda, others...

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party YPP in the state, Engr Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor (Nana) earlier today held a Town Hall Meeting with the Ohuhu people of Umuahia North Council.

The well attended meeting which took place at Nkwoegwu Civic Center have representatives from every facet of Ohuhu, with many YPP pro groups who have gathered to show solidarity with their party guber candidate.

Addressing the crowd, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor took time to intimate them on his proposed transformational government, aimed at repositioning the state on a progressive pathway.

He pledged to put his engineering profession to bear in infrastructural development of the state, with much emphasis on Umuahia, the capital city.

The YPP guber flag bearer vowed to reconstruct the long abandoned Okpara road in Ofeme Ohuhu soon as he assumes office, if elected.

He also promised to train and empower 50 Ohuhu persons in various vocation and trade.

Nana expressed joy at the warm reception and massive show of love and support accorded him by the Ohuhu people and pledged to reciprocate the kind gesture in due course.

He donated food, cash and gift items to participants of the Town Hall Meeting while urging them to remain steadfast in their support for the YPP in the state.

Co-host of the meeting and the House of Assembly hopeful for Umuahia North State Constituency, Nnaji Obed Asiegbu (Obedient Obed) thanked the people for honouring the invitation on mass despite the short notice.

Obedient Obed reeled out his developmental agenda, designed to drive the socioeconomic development of Ohuhu.

Obed Asiegbu who naturally enjoy massive support among the Ohuhu electorate vowed to hold the people's support sacred!

Speaking at the event, the Young Progressives Party State Chairman, Chimex Nelcinn Uluocha enjoined Ohuhu people to jettison sentiment in making their choice of gubernatorial candidate. He encouraged them to keep faith with YPP, as the party has come to change the narrative and install good governance in the state.

Engr Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor (Nana) was accompanied on the meeting by the Director General of NANA/OFUJI CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION, party chieftains and women leaders.

Highlights of the event was the official reception of defectors from other political parties. Notably, were:
Chief Iheanyi Igboanulam (Kpakpando), Chief J. U Nwachukwu (IkwunaIkwu), Dr Samson Orji and Hon Chinazaam Amadi (Former Afugiri Ward Councilor).

Service to community was today given due recognition as the people of Okaiuga Alike Autonomous Community, honoured Hon Nnaji Obed Asiegbu with a ROYAL EXCELLENCE AWARD.

In his remarks, the Paramount Ruler of Okaiuga Alike Autonomous Community, His Royal Majesty Eze Innocent Nwaigwe Adiele said that the Eze-In-Council decided to honour Nnaji Obed Asiegbu with the Royal Award in recognition of his community services in Ohuhu clan.

Continuing, His Majesty beckoned on Super Eagles and Arsenal legend, Kanu Nwankwo (Papilo) who was also present at the event to do the award presentation ceremony to Obedient Obed.

Presenting the Award to Nnaji Obed Asiegbu, Papilo said he is observant of the fact that the Awardee has shown a lot of capacity that really got him ripe enough to be considered for the honour by the community.

The former Eagles Captain entreated him to sustain the gestures that earned him the recognition, encouraging him not to relent but to do more rather, while asking God to strengthen him.

The Atlanta 96 Dream Captain encouraged others to emulate the good gesture in order to make the society a better place.

Speaking after receiving the award, Hon Nnaji Obed Asiegbu said he was overwhelmed with the recognition and support from the Ekeokwuru community, pledging to key in to the developmental efforts of some prominent sons of the community.

The YPP House of Assembly candidate reiterated his maximum regard for the Ekeokwuru community while asking God to bless them.

A Former House of Assembly Member, Umuahia North State Constituency and Educational Secretary, Umuahia North Local Council, Hon Clement Onyeoziri and Nnaji Obed Asiegbu were the only awardees at the event which featured the rich cultural display of the Ohuhu people.

Chairman of Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu led other Traditional Rulers to event which took place at the Gwurugwuru Palace of Okaiuga Alike kingdom.

A lot of misinformation has been circulating about an event that took place at Amafor Isingwu on the 8th of June 2022, where a group of young people who were out on public awareness for their candidate who received his YPP Certificate of Return are being accused of threatening and pursuing people with weapons, leaves and tree branches.

We are using this medium to dismiss such allegations because they are untrue and erroneous.

Young people who were present at the event on the said date were only seen with leaves, which is symbolic to that of the logo of the Youth Progressive Party (YPP), in support of the Party's candidate in the upcoming House of Assembly election for Umuahia North (OHUHU) State Constituency.

We therefore plead with the good people of Ohuhu and the general public to forgo such allegations, as they are just mere propaganda by unpopular extremists who know that they do not have the people's mandate, therefore trying everything within their ambit to tarnish the good name and unbeatable growth of the YPP flag bearer, Nnaji Obed Asiegbu.

The OBEDIENT OBED MOVEMENT, will continue to sensitise the great Ohuhu clan on the need to reject desperate politicians who are contesting for political office just for self aggrandizement. We are ready for whatever challenge our opponents will throw at us, we are not perturbed about their mischievousness because we know they have nothing to offer the great Ohuhu clan, and so, this movement will continue until the best representative, Nnaji Obed Asiegbu gets his seat to represent Ohuhu people in the Abia State House of Assembly.

My Beloved Clan Brethren.

My sincere and humble greetings to you all. I want to sincerely apologize to Ndi Ohuhu, my supporters and well wishers for keeping you in the dark since the purported PDP State House Of Assembly Primary Election of Sunday 22nd May, 2022. As your son and brother, I promised to be engaging.

Nevertheless, it is no longer news that the People’s Democratic Party Abia State Chapter (PDP) refused to conduct the election to elect the delegates across the State. However, it is unfortunate that the Party also systematically failed to conduct the Primary Election in Umuahia North State State Constituency which is otherwise known as Ohuhu Constituency.

As a result of the above, I feel it is a big slight to my people whom I seek to represent to be maltreated and insulted by the PDP, the Party that have benefited immensely from Ndi Ohuhu.

Permit me to inform you that the Adhoc delegate list which was undemocratically written was against the principles of Democracy and in addition, the attempt to have a candidate name written by the Party without conducting a Primary election is not only illegitimate but also a very bad attempt to rubbish and disrespect Ohuhu People who are known to be critical stakeholders in Abia State. No Clan can match the investment of Ndi Ohuhu in the PDP and also considering the fact that Ohuhu remains the cradle of good governance and development in the entire country. A Clan that produced Dr MI Okpara the founding Father of Abia State must be respected.
As a democrat and understanding the implication of forceful imposition of candidate, I did not want to be imposed without participating in a well legitimate organized Primary Election. Therefore, I have since withdrawn from participating in the activities of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State Chapter. I will not be part of any group of persons or organizations that will go against the Political and human right of Ndi Ohuhu to choose their Candidate through a defined political process.

As Obedient Obed, I shall remain Obedient to the civilized People of Ohuhu. My team and I shall be making public our next move. However, I am prepared to serve and I shall be on the ballot by the Grace of God come 2023.

Nnaji Obed Asiegbu has proven to be that man who stands firm to achieving his set goals no matter the storm as long as it is for the betterment of Ndi Ohuhu and the general public. Nnaji Obed Asiegbu has always put his feet in the right path ever since he came into the public limelight.

No doubt, Nnaji Obed Asiegbu track record till date is second to non and unbeatable by
so many Aspirants jostling for the House of Assembly member seat in Ohuhu today.

NNAJI OBED ASIEGBU: PUBLIC SERVANT WITH COMMUNITY INTEREST

NNAJI OBED ASIEGBU a Christian was born in Amafor Isingwu, Ohuhu Umuahia Abia State. He began his early education in Amafor Isingwu Community Primary School before proceeding to Lagos to continue his Primary School Education at the Military Primary School, Yaba Lagos.

Nnaji Obed attended Saint Finbarr’s College, Akoka Lagos where he exceled in learning and character. He was active in sporting and other child moulding activities while at the College. He was a member of Saint Finbarr’s College Football Team. He was the Vice President of the School Interact Club of year 2000. He is currently the Vice President of the Class of 1994-2000 set of the College.

Nnaji Obed proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2001 to study History and International Studies. He graduated in 2005 after his four years experience at the University.
And in 2006, he proceeded to Taraba State for his NYSC where he participated actively as a corp member, teaching various subjects at a Government Secondary School in Takum, Taraba State.

In pursuit of academic excellence, in the year 2007, Nnaji gained admission for his Master’s programme to study International Relations and Development Studies at the University of East Anglia, Norwich England.

After, his Graduate Programme in England, Nnaji worked in England to acquire experience in the field of Development, Charity, Social care and Information Technology.
Nnaji returned to Nigeria in January 2011 to participate in Leadership, Politics and Governance. He was appointed the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on electronic governance and Strategy by the then Governor of Abia State, Governor T.A Orji. Nnaji became the pioneer e-governance and new media aide to the Government of Abia State. He was instrumental to the creation of the Abia State website, creation of many State’s online platforms, the facilitator of the Abia State e-library and idea hub for the development of Information technology in Abia State. He served meritoriously in several Government committees and organized for the Governor and the Government many town hall meetings as well as being part of various campaign Strategy Directorates.

Nnaji was amongst the pioneer member of Okezuo Abia Campaign Organization. He was a member of the media committee of the Dr Okezie Ikpeazu under the platform of Okezuo Abia Campaign Organization where he served as the Deputy Director, New media and Strategy. Subsequently, he was appointed to serve as the Director New Media and Publicity by the People’s Democratic Party, Abia State in 2015.

Nnaji recently served as the Senior Special Assistant on e-governance and Strategy to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
He is a member of the Abia State World Bank States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability - (SFTAS) Program-for-Results (PforR) Project for Nigeria aimed at strengthening fiscal transparency, accountability, and sustainability in the participating States.

Nnaji has helped in capacity building and most especially, job creation. Through his public service influence, over 20 job seekers from Ohuhu and beyond have secured employment to work in the Abia State civil service.
Nnaji is a public servant with community interest; he is serving his community’s interest as well as the public interest to the best of his current capacity. He has attracted numerous ASUBEB basic School projects in the community Primary School. He initiated Amafor Isingwu and Isingwu Community COVID19 Palliative programs with the support of his fellow Progressives in Amafor and Isingwu to give succor to the vulnerable during the peak of the COVID19 pandemic in his community. To increase school age enrollment and community school capacity, he co founded the Amafor Educational Trust Funds.
To ensure the provision of quality healthcare services, he co founded the Amafor Isingwu Healthcare trust funds to support the Primary Healthcare Centre in his Amafor Isingwu community. Nnaji Obed has on numerous times, carried out the grading and maintenance of Amafor road.

He is also an entrepreneur who has created platforms for employment and training to many. He is the Director of Namo Cleaning Services, InsideOut Concept and partner in other small and medium schemes.


Nnaji is a member of several people’s orientated organizations like the Rotary Club, Ridge Club of Umuahia, Umuahia Premier Club, Ohuhu Solidarity Forum, Isingwu Progressive Forum. Nnaji Obed Asiegbu is also member and board of trustees, Green Peace Foundation for environmental protection, empowerment and development, Trustee member Protect the Precious Foundation, a girl child protection initiative amongst others. He is currently the Vice President of Saint Finbarr’s College Akoka Lagos Class of 1994-2000. He currently serves as the Abia State Chairman, People’s Democratic Party Youth Movement.

Over the years, I have imagined the possibility of a Representative who is accessible, understands the need to work in synergy with our elites, encourage our talented youths to be their best self, inspire our women to take their pride of place as builders, speak to the authority so that OHUHU will get all that rightfully belongs to them.

WHAT I INTEND TO DO: The overriding objective of my mandate is to inspire PEACE and UNITY. A peaceful and united OHUHU will boost my efforts in:

HEALTH: I am aware that the government does a lot to solve the health challenges of the people. With my contacts, effective relationship with Heads of relevant agencies, OHUHU will experience remarkable improvements on our health system.

WATER: Solving the perennial water challenge in OHUHU requires more than a passive interest. We will achieve what I call WATER AVAILABILITY REVOLUTION. How? encouraging us to do our bits while we attract government to do unto us that which we deserve as the cradle of civilization in our dear State

AGRICULTURE: We are predominantly farmers. Ulonna Farm Settlement will no longer be a mere "political abbreviation". We will not let the authorities sleep until we revive, recover and reposition that project that defines us as predominantly FARMERS

EDUCATION: Ohuhu land is the natural habitat of ELITES. However, we will raise the bar. We will get INVOLVED more than ever before. We shall be deliberate in assessing government overseas scholarship, involve government to rehabilitate all our schools and work with OHUHU ELITES AND ELDERS to put in place an arrangement that improves the scope of our home grown scholarship programme.
Based on the abundant Human Resources that Ohuhu possesses, I will reinvigorate the strength of Ohuhu leadership capacity by attracting the establishment of the Ohuhu School of Leadership, growth and development.

CULTURE: I am passionate about promoting the rich OHUHU CULTURAL HERITAGE. We will highlight that way of life that distinguishes us from others.

ICT AND CREATIVE ENTERPRENURSHIP: As your son with relevant experience in Information & Computer Technology, with the appropriate exposure, we propose to do a new thing. We will encourage constant training and retraining of our viable youths to be at speed with ICT trends. If there are incentives provided by governments, not even one will be denied OHUHU. Otherwise, we will continue to harness our potentials to serve the overall interest of our youths.

We propose to create wealth and attract for Small and Medium Scale Enterpreneurs, incentives and interventions that make wealth creation simple.

TOURISM: Naturally, Ohuhu should be the destination capital of tourists. We would revive through concerted community efforts and relevant legislations, every singular tourism potential of our people.

ROADS: We shall engage and lobby the Government and other Development Institutions for construction and reconstruction of our Roads.

Periodic Briefing: We will strengthen our Community Engagement within our Clan and with our people that are in Diaspora through our established nonpartisan Ohuhu Constituency Office.

We have over time written and published soft copies of several articles on Nnaji Obed Asiegbu, but those articles were mostly about his leadership styles, obedience in the service of his people and his intellectual capacity extravaganza, in line to this effect at the time.

Few were in disagreement while majority totally agreed with our sentiment about the awesome leadership capacity of Nnaji Obed Asiegbu. However we just realized that all these articles were about his God given talents in quality policy Initiation and effective management skills, leading to his wider acceptance not just within his immediate constituency but the whole of Abia State.

Today being Tuesday 29th March 2022, We are of the opinion to write not just an article full of praises but an illustration of leadership reality seen, heard and being put into action by the Youthful and Useful personality of Nnaji Obed Asiegbu.

A lot of people were really impressed with the bold step taken by this worthy son of Ohuhu land today. We have to mention that Nnaji Obed Asiegbu is not the tallest person in the leadership curve but he is doing exceedingly great in meeting the societal needs of our people.

What is fascinating about Nnaji Obed Asiegbu is he has never held any elected position in governance but he operates with lots of bowlful experience leading him to exceeding all expectations.

The time has come for a new dawn.
