Wist je dat de Dag van de Arbeid in onze buurlanden een nationale vrije dag is?

In Nederland is het wél een feestdag, maar krijgen we geen vrij. In België en Duitsland is deze dag ontstaan door het actievoeren van de vakbonden om aandacht te vragen voor arbeidsrecht en is daarom dus een vaste vrije dag.

Toch graag vrij buiten de nationale vrije dagen? Dat kan steeds vaker, want bedrijven bieden regelmatig een flexibel beleid voor feestdagen. Medewerkers kiezen dan zelf wanneer ze vrij nemen en ruilen bijvoorbeeld het Suikerfeest voor Hemelvaartsdag.

Ga met je medewerkers in gesprek en laat zien dat je meedenkt met wanneer zij graag vrij zijn. Bovendien is die spreiding van vrije dagen juist fijn voor je mensen en business. Wat vind jij: zou Nederland ook standaard vrij moeten zijn op de Dag van de Arbeid? 🤝

At Effectory we celebrate each year with a 'Big Day'? We come together to learn, celebrate and have fun!

We kicked off the day with an eye-opening presentation from neuroscientist Ayca Szapora on the intricacies of our brains. She showed us how we connect, communicate, and even trick ourselves. Truly-mind blowing. 😉

From mastering the art of giving constructive feedback to discussing real-world scenarios, we covered it all. And let's not forget our mini engineering feat - building functional catapults out of just wood logs and ropes! 🛠️

As the sun set, we wrapped up the day with food, drinks, and good tunes. Moments like these make us remember who we are - a driven team focused on meaningful work. Cheers to everyone who made this day memorable! 🥂
