Heavy Transport to the max! This is where the absolute excellence of BigLift comes full circle - what an impressive sight. Once again there are many spectators along the riverbank as the M.V. BigLift Baffin sails by with 4 STS Konecranes of 1837 tonnes each on board. The cranes were loaded in Zhoushan, China and they are destined for the new Ocean Terminal of the GPA (Georgia Ports Authority) in Savannah.

Picture with summer vibes! Astronomical summer has officially started in the northern hemisphere. The beginning of summer coincides with the longest day of the year. We can't wait for the sun and summer temperatures and we're looking forward to long summer evenings with beautiful sunsets.

Every year on June 15th, Global Wind Day celebrates the power and possibilities of wind energy. It’s also a day for people to learn more about Wind and this important form of energy. BigLift is proud to be instrumental in the building of Wind, and has an excellent track record in the transportation of large components for the onshore and offshore wind markets around the world.

They don't call it Heavy Lift for nothing. Our Happy Delta is loading a 284MT de-ethaniser at Pyonteak, Korea. The de-ethaniser is not the heaviest piece on board, that is a column of 389MT. The cargo’s destination is Houston, USA.

On her way to Singapore, the Happy Buccaneer had a sighting of the Happy Star in the Malacca Strait. It is always nice to encounter a sister vessel, especially when it results in some nice pictures.

Stunning pictures of our Happy Buccaneer on her way to London. Yesterday DP World received four new state-of-the-art Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) at London Gateway, as the company continues to invest in vital infrastructure to support the UK supply chain. The ASCs, supplied by Finnish manufacturer Konecranes, represent a significant step in streamlining operations at London Gateway. Special software is being developed to integrate the new ASCs with the existing crane fleet to ensure high levels of productivity and a seamless experience for customers. The ASCs will transfer containers from the port yard to lorries bound for consumer markets across the country. They will serve the new £350m all-electric fourth berth - the first of its kind in the world - which will increase capacity at the logistics hub by a third when it opens next year.

BigLift Shipping is very proud to have safely delivered the first 8 ASCs and we will be delivering the next 10 in early 2024.

A ship carrying ships. CY Interocean II, has been contracted by Rensen-Driesen Shipbuilding to transport 5 casco barges (ttl about 7,000 tonnes) from Nantong, China to Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The completion of the casco barges will take place in the Netherlands. The weather was stormy when the barges were discharged, but the whole operation went off without a hitch.

MV BigLift Baffin loaded a 10,000 mt Jack-up Platform in Flushing, The Netherlands, to bring it to West Africa.

The Jack up Platform has an overall width of 86 meters and its legs are 134 meters long. BigLift Baffin was the right vessel for the job, with her large, flush deck of 125 x 42 metres, her high deck strength and uniform grid of bulkheads and web frames, her sophisticated ballast system and state-of-the-art dynamic positioning system.

MV BigLift Baffin delivers 38 jacket foundations at Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm. BigLift Shipping transported 38 jacket foundations from El Ferrol, Spain to Van Oord’s offshore installation vessel Ae**us in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc for the Saint-Brieuc offshore windfarm, 16.3 kilometres off the coast of Brittany.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art dynamic positioning system and her 125*42 metre flush deck, BigLift’s heavy transport vessel BigLift Baffin was the right vessel for the job.

Spectacular! Happy Star’s extraordinary lifting capability was used to load the 1,492 mt CSU – Continuous Ship Unloader – in a tandem lift operation. Once on board, the CSU moved back 8 metres under its own power to make space to enable the boom to turn. The main body of the CSU was seafastened to Happy Star’s deck with 8 push-pull braces.

The CSU was manufactured by Doosan (Korea) for JAWA 9 & 10 Coal Fired Steam Power Plant ( project owner : INDO RAYA TENEGA ) which is still under construction at Cilegon, Indonesia, making the Happy Star the first vessel ever to dock at this Cilegon facility.

Ship-tacular arrival! 🚢

Damen Delivery Department organized and executed the transportation of four brand new DFE 3508 ferries from the yard in Haiphong, Vietnam to Panang Port, Malaysia. These vessels will operate on the ferry route that links the Malaysian Peninsula (Butterworth) with Penang Island and its city of George Town.
Loading, transport and unloading went perfectly. We are thankfull for the collaboration with BigLift Shipping.

We are happy to announce that m.v. Bloemgracht has been delivered from Fuzhou Mawei shipyard to Spliethoff Group today, 11 August 2023 at 14:15 (CHN time). The series of two identical DP2 B-type vessels is now complete.
