Introducing “Puzzle”, which you can now interact with at Fresh Air Sculpture, in the UK 🇬🇧 A reflection on how we often try to fit into places where we don’t belong. It’s about taking a step back and realizing we don’t have to force ourselves into spaces that aren’t right for us. Really excited for this piece to spread its wings. 🧩
📍Fresh Air Sculpture in Cirencester, UK.
📆 From 16 June to 7 July.
Finessing final details for Puzzle, an art installation. Four puzzle pieces stand tall. I often feel like a puzzle piece, part of the greater whole… sometimes fitting in .. other times not. It’s been new for me to work with Stainless steel and still have some polishing to go with material. This installation will be installed this Spring at Fresh Air Sculpture and this summer at Doddington. Honoured to show at these two gorgeous UK locations… stay tuned and please do contact me for more info on these Puzzle series…
Butterfly Kiss is a 120 cm tall bronze sculpture. Speaks of transformation, fluttering whispers in other worlds. My mother included butterflies in tapestries. Butterfly kiss, is a play between two butterflies that face each other and a single butterfly. Be together and individually whole.

Dearest Mom,
Oh how I already miss you. You are the positive light, with patience, creativity, love and grace. Thank you for always being there. Your protection and dedication to your family (as Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie & Daughter) and friends.
Your striking beauty and charm as a Miss Miami contestant, your batton twirling. Your determination and strong will to live life to the fullest. Your New York City girl smarts. Your contribution as president to international organisations such as FAWCO and ANCOR. Your creative talent to draw, paint and design. Your desire to study fashion design which led to countless fashion design collections for your clients. Your brilliant memory of history. Your song and dance twirling your elegant long legs. Your needlepoints, your teaching, infusing life sparkles. Your contagious laughter and fun.
… and all this while raising us, hand in hand with dad and managing a household in the Netherlands, a country that was completely new to you…which you embraced … what a brave soul …
Your constant source of inspiration for us around you.
Even in these latter years, where you battled Dementia, you did so with grace, at home, hand in hand with dad. What a love bird team you two have been and what a support you gave each other. And this all until your last peaceful breath at home.
It has been about quality of life and your transition through the passage ways have remained respectful.
It was time for your legacy to live on. You have prepared well, closed all open loops these last five miracle days and are already on your way as light into your next chapter.
I am grateful that you showed your guides through countless drawings of birds and butterflies embedded within your embroidered tapestries and pillows. These are cherished. We will be looking out for you above.
Thank you for teaching me about embracing life's adventures. About seeing the glass as being full. And in the spiritual connection with our ancestry.
Your legacy continues. You are now a free spirit, having let go of your physical body.
Joanne, forever my dancing star.

Joanne, forever my dancing star.
In loving memory of our dear mother, Joanne who peacefully passed away this morning (12 December 2023) at the age of 84 after bravely battling dementia.
She faced each day with unfailing strength, grace and a loving spirit that touched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, teaching, compassion and unwavering love will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
May she forever be our dancing star and rest in eternal peace.
