This month we spotlight TIP Glasgow, which offers a range of trailer hire & associated services from its modern 5-acre site at Chapelhall, just to the east of the city.

The team there has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge to support customers’ needs when it comes to short-term rental, long-term lease and the maintenance, repair and compliance management of trailers. The branch also offers full MOT preparation services, in addition to a tail lift, lifting deck & roller shutter door maintenance & repair facility. It has six fully-equipped mobile service vans to meet customers’ support requirements on their own site.

Located close to Junction 6 / 6A of the M8 motorway, providing easy access for customers in central Scotland and beyond, its 7-bay modern, IRTE Accredited workshop can accommodate all trailer types, including double deck trailers & longer semi-trailers and is equipped with two roller brake test systems.

TIP Glasgow has a fleet of over 800 trailers with trailers currently available for hire on a short-term or long-term basis!

TIP is refurbishing 400 trailers in the Howdens Joinery fleet, transforming existing assets to give them a 10-year working life extension.

The 10-month refurb project involves shotblasting, repainting, mechanical refitting, fitment of new strapping, curtains and telematics, plus a livery refresh.

The initiative demonstrates Howdens’ commitment to sustainable practices, with significant CO2 emission savings made when compared to those that would have been generated if newly manufactured.

This month we spotlight TIP Nuneaton, which offers a range of trailer hire & support services to transport operators in the ‘heart of the country’ and beyond.

Handily located close to Jctn 3 of the M6, and with superb access to the M42, M40, M1 & M69, the branch has a 10 bay IRTE Accredited workshop, roller brake test facility and dedicated, 5-day, ATF lane, alongside modern offices & meeting rooms. The fantastic facilities combine with the experienced operations and technician teams to facilitate the management of more than 2,000 trailers operating in the area. Its fleet of mobile service vans contribute significantly to this capability.

Its 10-acre site currently has trailers of all types available for hire on a short-term or long-term basis!

The first wet TIP annual golf day in recent years didn’t stop guests from enjoying a competitive round on the superb Greenway Hall Golf Club & Driving Range course in Staffordshire recently.

TIP customers, suppliers and staff, of ‘varied’ golfing ability, gathered at the beautiful, but challenging, course for a great afternoon, which was followed by a spot of dinner and the usual award ceremony. A fun day was had by all despite the conditions!

TIP is recycling its used trailer curtains and they are being used to make bags, rucksacks etc. or are being used for shelters and other emergency items across the world.

A nominal amount is earned for each curtain that is recycled and our EHS team has just donated £1,090 from the proceeds towards TIP’s Fat Bottomed Boys & Girls charity fundraising effort.
