Calling all visual artists based in The Netherlands passionate about unravelling colonial legacies! Be part of this groundbreaking transnational initiative funded by Creative Europe.
Explore our shared colonial past with 19 global partners. From Italy to Ghana, Tunisia to the UK, join us in unpacking the impacts of colonialism on contemporary culture.
What we offer - International residencies, exhibitions, and workshops from September 2024 to November 2026 (the artist is expected to participate fully in the program). Project fee, travel, accommodations, and more provided.
Artforms - Participatory and socially engaged visual arts practice (including but not limited to drawing, printmaking, photography, film, digital, sound, installation, performance). Environmentally conscious works adaptable to each location.

Welcome this May to the programme series that approaches traumatic heritage and memory from different disciplines.
From Monday 8 May, you can engage with the artists, speakers, curator and scholars about their contributions.
A.o. including:
an impressive audio performance (A Microscopic Burial) that explores 'mourning' and oral storytelling,
the workshop '100 years' which is about what you want to be remembered in 100 years from now,
a lecture on 'Feminisation Rhetoric' and how the Russian government uses it to justify the invasion of Ukraine,
two different artist films made in situ (Sebastián Diáz Morales and Betsy Torenbos),
an investigation of masculinity among trans men in Cuba,
a conversation about three in situ interventions realised with contemporary artists in different places across NL,
the memories of the so-called great transitions that took place in Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Global South - and more.
