Breaking barriers in fitness: the inspiring journey of Marcha van Glaanen Weijgel

Meet Marcha van Glaanen Weijgel, the Surinamese-Dutch entrepreneur who transformed the Dutch fitness scene by creating a welcoming space for women. Despite her strong qualifications, banks repeatedly denied her loan applications.

Mama Cash’s crucial support helped Marcha open her Amsterdam studio in 1997. Her success was swift, repaying the loan ahead of schedule and earning the title of Mama Cash’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

By challenging these discriminatory banking practices, we set a new standard for more inclusive financial systems, inspiring future generations of women entrepreneurs!

Investing €6.1 million in disability justice!

Mama Cash has channelled over €6.1 million into disability justice, transforming legislation, healthcare, and societal norms around disability and s*xuality.
