BODEGA CERRÓN - This fourth generation winery, located in the village of Fuente Alamo in the Southeast corner of Spain, exists already since 1895 and has been certified organic since 1995. Cerrón represents the ‘Young Guns’ of Spanish winemaking in one of the oldest wine regions in Spain. The young Juan José Cerdan and Illaria Martini are passionate devotees of the Biodynamic principles. Their motto is to be the new generation of old world wines. The vineyards are located 700-800 metres above sealevel. Respect for this Bodega’s history is shown on their labels: Each wine depicts an old photo from the family archive.
VINÃ PEDROSA - Perez Pascuas is one of the historic wineries of Ribera del Duero. Brothers Benjamin and Adolfo, produced the first vintage in 1980. Two years later in 1982, they were part of a small group of wineries that founded the DO Ribera de Duero. Nowadays they own 145 hectares vineyards, with a big percentage of 30 year old vines. The bodega is located in Pedrosa de Duero, near Borgos, the higher part of Ribera, where the region’s typical contrast between day and night temperatures are even more pronounced. José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, one of the region’s most meticulous wine makers is responsible for the total production. He makes a very authentic style Ribera, without excessive ripeness and with pronounced acidity, which gives the wines great ageing potential.
LAHERT & FRÈRES - Jean-Baptiste Laherte started this family estate in 1889 and originally planted most vineyards in the village of Chavot, just south of Epernay. Nowadays the estate covers 11 hectares divided over 10 villages and 75 parcels. The sixth and seventh generation produces very authentic, terroir driven Champagnes following biodynamic principles. Laherte sets its own course, both in the vineyards as well as in the cellar, often on intuïtion. They pick for example their fruit early in the morning in order to preserve the aromatic character of the grape. They also treat their Champagne first and foremost as wine, and terroir expression is of paramount importance. This results in unique wines with own style and lots of complexity.

FAMILLE LIEUBEAU - Famille Lieubeau was a foundling in Nantes born in 1816 and raised by a winemakers family. He started his own family and a winery. These days the business is run by Pierre and Chantal and their children François, Vincent and Marie. The conversion to organic viticulture starting in 2015. The family combines ancestral winemaking techniques, such as long lee ripening, with a technique of separating the different press fractions, which is unusual in the region. This results in very precise wines, true to the appellation. The family is also loyal to Muscadet’s classic cru’s and produces from different plots very gastronomic wines that are true expressions of the different terroirs.
CÉSAR MÁRQUEZ - The young César Márquez did not become winemaker overnight. He is born and bred in a family with a deep-rooted winemaking tradition. The estate of his family in Bierzo, Castro Ventosa, was founded in 1752 and until this very day in hands of his mother, two uncles and cousin. Thanks to this history, he has access to the best vines in the region. He launched four wines in 2015 and makes seven nowadays, from 6 hectares 80 to 120 year old vines. He is part of the ‘new wave’ Spanish winemakers: The new generation that has traveled, but feels connected with the region they originate from. His goal: Dissecting meticulously the potential of the Mencía grape. He markets his wines Burgundy-style: Appellation-wine, Village-wine and Single Vineyards, just like Comando G. He works fully organic and uses very little sulfite. Márquez is the new reference for the Bierzo region.
LES ANNEREAUX - The grapes of this accesible, juicy Bordeaux come from a parcel named 'l'Âne Mort, that is crossing the border of the appellation Lalande-de-Pomerol. A small percentage Petit Verdot gives this lively red a little more edge. Lots of fruitexpression, round tannins and enough freshness give this Bordeaux lots of drinking pleasure.
FLORENT COSME - The young Florent Cosme, one of the rising stars of the Loire Valley, is reviving the appellation Vouvray. He learned his skills from winemaker Vincent Careme, who he still assists these days. Since 2010 he cultivates his own four hectares in Noizay, part of Vouvray’s ‘première côte. The oldest vineyards date from 1933. Florent works fully biodynamic, uses indigenous yeasts and his wines are not subject to malolactic fermentation. This results in a very pure style Chenin Blanc, transparant and digestible, that does not forsake the Vouvray appellation.
DOMAINE CHARLES AUDOIN - This authentic domaine is run by Cyril Audoin, fifth generation winemaker. Marsannay obtained AOC-status relatively late, because the area was originally known for its rosé. Thanks to thorough pre-work of earlier generations, change has taken place and winegrowers opt for a Premier Cru classification. Cyril is one of the producers that is striving for this and makes a very authentic style Marsannay. His father Charles took over in 1972, when the acreage was only 2,5 hectares, at that time only planted with Gamay and Aligoté. Slowly the estate grew to the 14 hectares that is planted nowadays. Charles is still present in the vineyards every day. Here, fully organic practises are applied. Cyril vinifies all the plots seperatly and produces 7 different terroirs red, 4 white and, unlike other producers in the region, rosé, to continue this historic traditon.
DOMINIO DE LA VEGA - Dominio de la Vega was founded in the region Utiel- Requena, 70 kilometers west of Valencia, close to the Mediterranean sea. This area consists of a large plateau of 600-900 metres altitude with a soil of clay and limestone. The climate is continental with mediterranean influences, which gives this Cava both freshness thanks to the altitude and proximity to the sea, as well as ripeness thanks to the high amount of sun hours. This estate was one of the first to start with the production of Cava in this region. The No1 comes from hand-picked, organically cultivated grapes from around 25-year-old, cooler vineyards on an altitude of 700 metres in the hills of the southern part of Vega del Rio Magro.
CHAMPAGNE XAVIER LECONTE- The history of Champagne Xavier Leconte goes back to 1870, when Onésime Leconte introduced viticulture to the family. In 1980, fifth generation Xavier Leconte took over the tradition and started his career as an independent grower. Full of ambition, he dissected the soil, increased the acreage and planted Chardonnay between the already present Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Little by little he leased additional vineyards from his parents and established his first winery. In 2000 he reached an area of 10.2 hectares. Since 2003, Alexis has taken charge of the house and continues the trend for creating terroir-dominated Champagnes. Through careful management in the vineyards, he ensures that the vines take root deeply in the bottom layer of the soil. Each individual plot is vinified separately. The acreage of Xavier Leconte is spread over 40 small plots spread over the municipalities of Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières and Aÿ. Three important historic plots are part of the acreage: 'Le Clos de Poiloux', a Pinot Noir dominated vineyard, 'La Croissette', a 50-year-old Pinot Meunier vineyard near Troissy and 'Le Cotéas', a former cherry orchard, where Meunier is also planted. Alexis works with respect for nature and, like his great-grandfather, works in the vineyard and cellar watching the phases of the moon and the natural cycle of the earth. 25% of the wine is aged in wood and 75% in temperature-regulated stainless steel tanks.
LE CROCK - Château le Crock was the first purchase of the Cuvelier family, whose history in the wine trade dates back to 1804. They bought the Château in 1903. Afterwards, they purchased Château Camensac and Château Leoville-Poyferré. Le Crock is managed by Sara Lecompte-Cuvelier, who is supported by Jonathan Servant (chef de culture) and Isabelle Davin (château-oenologist). In additon, flying winemaker Michel Rolland advises every now and then on harvest and blend. The estate covers 32 hectare of vineyards, situated between Château Cos d’Estournel and Château Montrose. Traditional Médoc-varieties are planted: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The soil consists of an upper layer of gravel and a subsoil of sand and clay. Under the inspiring guidance of Jonathan Servant, all practises in the vineyards are sustainable. For many years Le Crock is among the top of the Crus Bourgeois. This complete and neo-classical style Bordeaux is a perfect value for money.
LOTTE WOLF - The impassioned Dutch sommelier and winemaker Lotte Wolf tragically passed away in 2018. After an impressive career as a sommelier (at the famous *** restaurant Oud Sluis) and a variety of wine making internships, she chose Swartland to produce her own wines. She teamed up with one of Swartland’s Cowboys Johan Meyer and launched her first vintage in 2017 called: Touch of Dutch. Soon after her unexpected death the Wine Wolf Foundation was founded, in order to continue the production of her wines together with Johan Meyer and encourage young wine talent. In this way we can continue to enjoy her wines nowadays. This will keep the memories and her biggest dream alive.
LE CLOS DES GRIVES - Le Clos des Grives is the first organic winery in the Jura, Ecocert already sonce 1968. Benoît Mulin, born and raised in the region and a former banker working in Lyon, returned to his homeland and started working for Stéphane Tissot, at the time a rising star wine maker who produced wines with the grapes of 25 growers. Mulin brought in his financial and business know-how and took charge of the company when Tissot decided to focus more on his family vineyards. In 2017 Benoît took over the 4 hectare estate Clos des Grives, to produce his own biodynamic wines. He only uses a little sulphur when bottling. The wines are unfined and unfiltered. Benoît produces all the classic Jura-styles, including the famous Vin de Paille, Vin Jaune and Macvin.
DOMAINE BLAIN SOEUR & FRÈRE - Domaine Blain was founded in 2014, when siblings Marc-Antonin and Lucie acquired 5,6 hectare of old vines planted on the slopes of Mont-Brouilly. Both grew up in their family domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet. After completing his oenological studies, Marc-Antonin gained experience in Australia and now manages the vineyards in Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. Lucie is responsible for communications and daily operations. The vineyards are located in most southern part of the appellations and the average age of the vines is over 50 years old. The hand-picked grapes are vinified in Chassagne-Montrachet, where Marc-Antonin experiments with various sized oak barrels and tanks.
CLOS DE LÔM - This family-winery has been founded by S. Dupuy De Lôme in 1836. The estate own the best terroir of Valencia, located in the Valley dels Alforins. The region is known for its authentic varieties Monastrell, Garnacha and Malvasia. The soil consists predominantly of clay and chalk and with the Medittereanean 55 kilometers away, the sea breeze and colder nights provide enough freshness in the wines. Most vineyards are bush vines, and all grapes are hand harvested. Each parcel means a different micro-cru for the winemakers. This terroir-expression is the main focus for the philosophy of Clos de Lôm and gives pure and authentic wines.
BOMONT DE CORMEIL - Tom Bove, owner of Château la Mascaronne, purchased this negelected property in the valley of the river Bresque, just outside of the Medieval town Fox Amphoux, right after selling Château Miraval. After rigid renovation, with the clearance of south-facing hills and replanting them with Syrah and Viognier grapes, the first vintage was launched onto the market in 2012. Nowadays the estate covers 7 hectares of organically certified vineyards, with plans to double this area in the near future. When renovating the country house, dating from the 18th century, a fresco of an angel was uncovered and this image adorns each bottle of the estate.
DOMAINE ANDRÉ VATAN - André Vatan took over this family-estate from his father, when he unexpectedly died in 1988. Since then, he has expanded the business gradually and has invested substantially in new equipment. He is assisted by his wife Arielle and his offspring is ready to succeed him in the future. The family owns 10 hectares spread over four vineyards. with soils dominated by a mix of Silex and limestone. These vineyards are planted with 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Pinot Noir and yields are low. André, a true perfectionist, renowned in the region for his pristine cellars, makes crystal clear wines with lots of precision and length.
DOMAINE GARDIÉS- Jean Gardiés is the seventh generation wine maker of this famous domaine, which consists of 35 hectares on the foot of the French-Catalan hills, around Vingrau and Tautavel. Together with his son Victor Jean runs his vineyards and optimizes the combination of exposure, soil and grape variety. This results in very precise wines with complexity and elegance. The farming is fully biodynamic. Jean Gardiés is considered the organic pioneer of the region. Due to climate and soil (Schist on the side of Espira de l'Agly and Clay-Limestone from the side of Vingrau), yields are low. All grapes are hand harvested.
ERIC LOUIS- Located in the south-east of Sancerre, the fourth generation winemakers is busy to cultivate the winery with love, passion and respect for nature: Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on 35 hectares. The Wine Estate carries a wide range of wines from Centre Loire appellations: Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Châteaumeillant, and also varietal wines under the Vin de France category. Certified “High Environmental Value”, Eric Louis switched to Organic Farming in 2020 for a certification in 2023 to preserve biodiversity and highlight each terroir specificity in our wines. These certifications recognize long-standing work in favour of nature. This passion for terroir marks a range of refined, precise and mineral wines where the fruity expression is always kept.
