Geïnspireerd op het leven en werk van componist, instrumentenbouwer en etnomusicoloog Ernö Király (Subotica, voormalig Joegoslavië 1919 - Novi Sad, Servië 2007), heeft Hansko Visser een complex systeem in muzikale parameters opgezet.

Dit 'Bio-Grafische Partituren' systeem van Hansko Visser bestaat uit beeldcodes (linoprints), poëzie en compositorische instructies. Ze dienen ter muzikale interpretatie voor vier componisten en hun ensembles van vier. In totaal brengen 16 muzikanten Asvogel versies V-VIII / Kemenymadar 'de tweede vlucht' ten gehore in het kerkje te Oostum.

Tried to release this on Esc.rec. a while ago as per Luc's request, but just couldn't find the right amount of time to give this the attention it deserves. Just so much to do in the world and so little time 😅 Happy to see it is now out there, released on his own Red Note label. And with a very nice little sculpture by Alexander van Zanten, depicting a small version of Luc's 'Objet Sonore' - a big seven meter sound horn, designed by Peter Zegveld - in a cityscape. Beautiful.

Esc.rec. celebrates it’s 20th year this year! Which is quite an achievement for a small independent recordlabel, right? Proud to say we are currently working on the 112th release (not counting the many 'side projects') 🤯

We started celebrating late March 2024, combining it with partying for the 10th birthday of De Perifeer and the 50th birthday of Esc.rec. owner Harco Rutgers. Which was awesome. But there’s more.

Esc.rec. decided to clean house. Many of the releases in the backcatalogue of the past 20 years will be sold at (huge) discounts. Cleaning out storage, making room for the new. Mind you, most of these releases have extremely few copies left, so be quick to grab. For the most recent releases we maintain original prices for now.

This sale started already in De Perifeer in Havenkwartier Deventer, so plan a visit there if you want to get a head start (and will save you shipping costs). We had a wonderful album presentation at MOLK Factory Plantage Dok in Amsterdam. Amazing location with supernice people! We had two excellent live shows by T'iju T'iju (with guest musicians Giuseppe Doronzo and Joost Wesseling) and Myuné. And excellent vegan Korean food by Byeong Su. And DJ PussyRita closing the night. And an extensive merch stand by Esc.rec. and MOLK Records, with amongst many other things the brand new vinyl by T'iju T'iju of course.
