This Sunday is the last Sunday that we provide a program for children in the age 4-12 before the Summer break - which, for the Kids Ministry will last until the first Sunday of September. So, let's end this season with a bang! There will be games, crafts, nice foods and loads of fun. Also, the kids can come dressed up in a fun costume.

As many of our church members will go abroad for a longer period of time in the Summer holiday, we have found it best to take a brief break each Summer from our church services. The reason is that we want to make sure our teams can enjoy a good break and start the new season afresh.

However, church will not be closed! We do have informal gatherings at Gomarus at 10:00 where there is space for deep conversations, sharing and prayer. If you are still around, we do hope to see you there.

Join us for a fun Women's Night this Saturday, July 13 from 7-10pm at Framaheerd 42, Groningen. There will be plenty of room to get to know each other and share food and drinks. If it's dry, we will be outside with a campfire, so please dress accordingly. Please bring some finger-food and your favourite drink and a chair if possible.

This coming Sunday it's Potluck Sunday again! On Potluck Sunday everyone brings a dish - enough to share with others - and we stall out all the food and then have a great community time after the service. Make sure to bring a dish, so that there will be enough for everyone!

TONIGHT! Open Heaven at Bloeiplaats
Once a month we have a worship and prayer night at the Bloeiplaats, seeking God's presence, inviting the Spirit to move and going deeper in worship together. This month, we are talking about building a prayer culture and cultivating a hunger for God. Open Heaven is an excellent opportunity to put into practice some of the things we are learning.

This is the last Open Heaven before a Summer break, but we are planning to continue in the Fall season!

Worship Intensive | 5-6 July
The Altar will be exploring the broader message of what it means to live a life of worship. More than just a technical 'worship school,' we sense an invitation from the Lord to be renewed in our first love and undivided pursuit of Jesus. We’ll be talking through corporate questions of building an altar to the Lord: what does that mean in our personal lives and wider ministries, and how do we do it? We'll be spending time each morning and evening seeking the Lord through worship and prayer, encountering Him and allowing His presence to mark us.

Spring Offering | Supporting Missions Initiatives
Every year in the Spring we take up a special missions focused offering. This year, we are so excited to raise funds for two missions initiatives from our own community!
One of our own Discipleship Groups will go on a missions trip to Egypt, and Jan Achterberg will do a big fundraising campaign for sports ministry in the Netherlands.

Many of our students will be involved in a week of mission reaching their fellow students. Let us pray for great conversations and many open doors for the Gospel.

Potluck!
This Sunday is Potluck Sunday. Once a month, everyone in church brings a dish to share with others, and we make it into a grand community hangout. Prepare to stay a while longer this Sunday, and make sure to bring something, because a potluck only works if there is more food than appetite.

Pre-service Prayer Meeting
Last Sunday we launched a weekly pre-service prayer meeting from 9am-10am in the classroom beside the toilets. Our desire is to become a praying church. This prayer meeting is open for everyone. We will pray for things going on in the church, for that Sunday's service, ask to receive impressions to be shared on that day, etc. If you have a heart for prayer, and would love to see the Lord move in power in our services, we would love to invite you to join there.

Open Heaven | April 18
Join us for the next worship and prayer night, starting at 19:30 on Thursday April 18 at Bloeiplaats. This is an opportunity to come together, worship freely and seek God's face together. Come, Holy Spirit, and have your way in us!

PLEASE NOTE!!! This worship night is not happening on our regular meeting facility, but at the Bloeiplaats, a space built for worship and prayer on the Suiker terrein (Suikerlaan 37, Groningen).

Clock change this weekend!
Please note that this Easter weekend is also the weekend that the clocks will change! In the night of Saturday on Sunday it will go one hour forward (which means less sleep). Make sure to not forget, because we will have to start the Easter service without you!

Easter Sunday | March 31
Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus with us on Easter Sunday. This is the most glorious and most powerful day of the year, and surely a great time to bring a friend. On Easter Sunday we will also set up the pool for BAPTISMS! We look forward to seeing you there.

Potluck Sunday
Easter Sunday is also Potluck Sunday. What a great day for a community meal. Potluck is a concept of a shared meal where everybody brings a dish along to share with each other. As you come in for the service, you can drop off your dish with instructions. Let's make this a great community Sunday together. What dish are you bringing?

Good Friday Tenebrae Service | 20:00
On Good Friday, we are going to have a Tenebrae service, which is a special Good Friday liturgy including Scripture, singing and prayer. This service will be very different from a Sunday morning or a worship night, but include much more contemplation and reflection. Tenebrae is a style of service that goes back far into church history and is still used throughout many different church denominations. In this year's Tenebrae, we will reflect on the seven words of the Cross. The service will end with Communion.

Join the INFO NIGHT for the start of a new International Alpha Course on April 3rd, starting 19:30 at SKLO (Kraneweg 33, Groningen)

Alpha is a course that explores the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed and open environment. If you are exploring Christianity, or want to reconnect to God, then Alpha is the place to be. This course runs over 10 Wednesday nights and 1 weekend and will start on April 10. It will include a free meal and you are sure to make a few new friends.

Church Family Meeting | March 10, 12:00-13:00
Every year, the Board hosts the Church Family Meeting to give a full update on all matters concerning the finances and policies of the church. We discuss our vision, finances and other important developments. Everyone who considers Vineyard to be their spiritual home is welcome to join for this meeting. Make sure to note it down in your calendar! We have chosen to do the Church Family Meeting directly after the service, starting at 12:00 to give everyone a chance to attend.
