As part of my ongoing project Eutopia, the city was decomposed and recomposed to create a new landscape. Adding a sense of disruption, Eutopia allows a new exploration of familiar spaces.

A perfect example of 'Amsterdam School' style, the De Dageraad housing complex was designed by architects Michel de Klerk and Piet Kramer 🏗

In spite of its name, the 'Amsterdam School' is an art and architecture movement that can be found all across the Netherlands 🇳🇱 a movement that revolutionised urban planning with its distinctive architectural style

With one of the top 100 most important interior designs in the Netherlands, the van Brienen House caught my attention. A perfectly preserved 18th century interior characterises this majestic building in Amsterdam 🇳🇱

Initially built around 1620, House van Brienen was radically renovated in Louis XIV style 👑 the house passed from member of nobility to the other until it was donated to the Association Hendrick de Keyser which is preserving the rich history embedded in this building

Last weekend one of my stunning staircases found its place among the works of other 100 local artists during the exhibition 100 x KUNST IN DE AKERK organised by Kunstpunt Groningen ☀️

During the event I had the opportunity to explore the local art landscape and exchange thoughts and ideas with other inspiring artists

Tomorrow is the start if the exhibition 100 x ART IN THE AKERK 🎉

My work will be presented during the event alongside the ones of 100 other artists, designers and illustrators

The exhibition was organised by Kunstpunt Groningen to showcase a diversity of artworks: paintings, objects, performance art, drawings, photography and video art

Today I’m taking you behind-the-scenes of one of my works from the Eutopia project.➡️

Eutopia comes from the desire to create a work that reflects my belief that reality is multiple and therefore everyone experiences it in a different way: we all see stuff differently! This depends on our observation point in space, but also in a social, economical, psychological, and cultural sense.

With Eutopia I wanted to reproduce a multitude of points of view in the work itself, reproducing the same mechanism I believe is at work when we experience the world. I eventually reached this idea of projecting the image on an irregular surface, so that different angles would pave way to different realities – or better, different interpretations of the same reality.

The Stunning Staircases tour continues in Turin, Italy – also known as my hometown.📍🇮🇹 This beautiful staircase was shown to me by someone who believed in the project from the beginning, and became my very first collector. She was so committed to my project that she decided to disclose this Liberty-style mansion, a hidden treasure that she knew from her adolescence, to me. It’s safe to say this is a very special staircase!

It was a great surprise to see what was hidden behind this city’s palaces; those that I saw so many times from the outside. It also made me realize that, in a way, that's what I want to do with my work. Shine a light on another side of places. It was a magical little step that allowed me to see things differently, and I hope the result will allow someone else to do the same.✨

Today’s Stunning Staircase is in the Quirinale, in Rome. It’s the residence of the president of the Republic of Italy, and formerly one of the main residences of the Pope. I find it quite a majestic building, full of art and history – a true symbol of Italianity. 🇮🇹
