CONTINUATION AND EXPANSION OF A SUCCESSFUL PILOT WITH IOT SOLUTIONS FOR THE DUTCH RAILWAY STATION (NS) AND DUTCH AIRPORT (SCHIPHOL)

Poor hygiene, broken facilities and incorrect signing are showstoppers in public transportation. Offering a cean and safe station and airport makes the difference between traveling by train, plane, bus, subway or not.

In order to enhance one's grip on facility processes such as cleaning, and to structurally improve the traveler's quality perception in this regard, INPRC asked WeSquare to develop an innovative IoT solution that keeps track of the number of travelers using the facilities offered at the NS (Dutch Railway Station), when they use them, and how they perceive their functionalities and hygene.

On top of that, the solution should monitor the efforts and works rendered by its cleaners: how often a facility is being cleaned and how long this takes.

The main goal of the solution is to provide concrete input for facilities management to enhance its cleaning processes, and structurally improve perceived quality.

In addition to the scanning devices, WeSquare subsequently developed a sophisticated mobile app and user-friendly web application that uses sophisticated formulas to feed a clear dashboard and produce actionable insights to manage and enhance facility processes based on the traveler's actual perception.

After a successful pilot for the Dutch Railway Station (NS) which lead to an average improvement of the quality perception by 15% at 32 of its stations and in 44 of her restrooms, we are happy and proud to announce that the pilot is not only extended from 44 to 150 locations, but also expanded with a pilot for the main Dutch Airport (Schiphol).
