An anthropologist specializing in Southeast Asian popular musics, Jeremy is a professor in the Department of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
His research interests include music and technology, globalization, cultural theory, and semiotics. He is the author of several articles on music-related topics and of the book Modern Noise, Fluid Genres: Popular Music in Indonesia, 1997-2001.
Dr. Wallach is also co-editor of Metal Rules the Globe: Heavy Metal Music around the World, a collection of scholarly essays on metal scenes in fifteen countries.

Verhaal en wandeling door Marcel Stol, mede-oprichter van de Goudvishal, punker van het eerste uur en schrijver

Ook in Arnhem explodeert vanaf 1977 de punkgolf. Eerst in de Stokvishal, waar veel Punk- en Wave bands spelen die later (wereld)beroemd worden. Denk aan Herman Brood, Cuby + Blizzards, S*x Pistols, Blondie, Simple Minds en meer. Daarna in de Goudvishal, die in 1984 gekraakt en gerund wordt door de jeugdige punks zélf.

Marcel Stol, basgitarist en leadzanger bij de Arnhemse punkband Neuroot, vertelt graag over de jongeren(sub)cultuur in het rauwe Arnhem van de jaren 70 en 80.

We starten in voormalig krakersbolwerk Hotel Bosch, nu een (eet)café. Na zijn verhalen neemt Marcel Stol ons mee op een tocht langs alle sleutellocaties uit de Arnhemse punkscène.
