Aquamania is turning 32 this year, and that is a big reason to celebrate💃. When you are 32 years old, it is the perfect age to travel the world before life gets too serious. Therefore we would like to invite you to the Dies week starting on June 17th. Pack your bags because we are going on an adventure🌴! During the Dies, we will backpack all around the world to do the most amazing activities🌍. From the club championships at the Olympic Games in Paris to karaoke at Temptation Island. Hi! I am Delilah, 21 years old and praeses of the 32nd board of Aquamania: Aquadventure! In my role as chairwoman I look after my board members, help them with their tasks, prepare board meeting, and General Assemblies where members decide on the future of Aquamania! 💙 Besides being board, I am also studying Biomedical Sciences and currently in my last few months of my Bachelor.

I have been a member of Aquamania for almost 4 years now, but the surprisingly best part about being board is that you still learn new things. Since the beginning of my board year I have started giving trainings and going to waterpolo trainings regularly, which were really fun to my surprise! My favorite thing about Aquamania are our lovely members and I love catching up with everyone during Aquadinner! 👩🏽‍🍳🫶

My name is Marlijn and this year I have the honor of being the Abactis of Aquamania🖊️. As Abactis I take care of all the emails, minutes, Aquagendas and all our lovely members.

Since I was very young I always loved being in the water so I started swimming competitively when I was 7 years old. However when I moved to Leiden to start studying Bio-pharmaceutical Sciences I did want to continue swimming but not on the same level. When I found Aquamania🌀 and learned that everything was very low key but still with a lot of fun, I knew I had to join.

This year I am also a member of the NSZK committee which will be on the 19th and 20th of April in Leiden!

So far I have really enjoyed seeing our members grow in the water and getting to know them outside the water during all kinds of activities. And I am very excited for everything the rest of the year has to offer! 💙

During this year I am the Assessor Water Polo of Aquamania. In the beginning of my student years I fell in love with water polo after years and years of competitive swimming. And still I am enjoying the social and team part of the sport!
As Assessor Water Polo I am responsible for all the water polo parts of Aquamania 🤽‍♀️. I make sure that there are enough trainers and that there is a trainer during every practice. These trainers help me a lot and I am really grateful for them 😊.
Throughout the year there are 4 NSWKs (Dutch Student Water polo Competitions) and I make sure that we represent Leiden during these tournaments.
Beside the wonderful job as poloco I help multiple committees and my board members. In addition to these fun board tasks, I still work as a kind of hobby 😉. I work at the department nucleair medicine of the LUMC. Kortom, het is een stralend jaar✨!

☀️NSZK IV🏊

The last NS(Z/W)K of the season was organised by . We had a blast in Enschede, enjoying the sun, the swimming and each other’s company!!

The last NSWK of the season was played in an actual lake. And although the water was freezing cold the vibes were immaculate 🤙🏻

Sponsor swim!

In order to raise money for Syria and Turkey. Aquamania organised a sponsor swim. We managed to raise 1390,70 euro, which was donated to Giro 555!!💙

Together with .levitas and we organised a Kanopolo tournament. It was a tough competition, which Aquamania won of course. But most of all it was a very fun evening!!💙💙

For the third NSWK of the season we made the trip to Tilburg! We had the pleasure of playing with our lovely sisters from Delft in a combined AquaWave team. Our advanced team even managed to take the win. Making Aquamania Dutch Student Water polo champions💪🏼🌀💙

🏊‍♀️NSZK II & ONKS🏊

Just before winter break we participated in the NSZK II organised by . We had a lot of fun and many of our members managed to break their personal bests. Afterwards we had very fun Christmas themed party🎄

At the end of February we participated in the ONKS organised by .aquifer. We had an amazing weekend and our very own Lonneke even managed to get a top three placement in breaststroke!!

Monday, February 6th, parts of Syria and Turkey were hit by an earthquake of a magnitude not before seen in these regions. Due to this, tens of thousands lost their lives, a hundred thousand were injured, and hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes.

We, as Aquamania, are setting up a sponsored swim for the affected families in the earthquake area on Monday the 27th of February (21:45-23:15), via Giro 555. We ask you all to ask friends and family to sponsor you as you swim as many lanes as you can during 1 hour of our practice.

Hallllooooo! I’m Eva, some of you might not know me since I’m less active at trainings, but if you’ve been to any of the lustrum activities you would have seen me there. I’m in my third year of psychology and have been playing water polo for almost 9 years. Aquamania is a great way to meet fun and amazing people who are very welcoming and easygoing. Joining committees was the best decision and I have enjoyed getting to know more people, and organizing memorable activities. Especially the lustrum and almanak committee, they make my time at Aquamania extremely enjoyable. I strongly recommend joining Aquamania because it is a great way to stay active and to have fun, emphasis on having fun. See you at the next practice! Hahaha just joking, see you at the next activity :)

To round out this week: Hey everyone, my name is Mare Beeldman and I am 22 years old. I am currently (hopefully) finishing my masters in Public Administration. And I am the Praeses and Assessor Water polo of Aquadrenaline. I started playing water polo when I was 8 years old at my local club, never evolved from there, after 11 years at the club I stopped playing the sport when covid hit. After 1,5 years and a long covid infection, I joined Aquamania in October last year. I loved it so much that I almost immediately knew that I wanted to become board. This year you’ll see me at swimming practices and thoroughly enjoying the water polo practices, you’ll also see me giving both water polo and swim practices. We’ve already been very busy over the last couple of months and I am very much looking forward to what this year still has to offer.

Hey, my name is Manon. I started swimming at 4 years old and continued to do so for 12 years. I tried some other sports after that but starting to miss swimming when studying biology.
I fell in love again with the sport and joined Aquamania!
This year has been amazing so far!
I have a lovely dog and live in a tiny house on my own and I started being serious about open water swimming. I hope to continue to have fun and challenge myself in all sorts of ways!!

Hi, I am Tajda, from Slovenia. I came to the Netherlands to study psychology. I started swimming when I was 3 yeara old, and I never stopped. Soon I started professional swimming, but had to finish my career due to studies. I joined aquamania to continue swimming and I also got to learn waterpolo which I’m enjoying a lot! This year I am the quaestor and I can’t wait what the rest of the year is gonna bring!

Hi everyone! I'm Olivia, 20 years old, and this year I'm Aquamania's Swimming commissioner, as well as a second year Biology student at Leiden University.

Funnily enough, learning to swim as a child did not come easily to me. But I started swimming competitively when I was about 8 years old, and haven't stopped since!

Since starting my year as board, I've begun coaching for the first time in my life, and while I miss being able to train as much, I also greatly enjoy seeing the other side of swimming: from the pool deck, rather than the water. Last year I also competed in my first open water meet, despite being much more of a sprinter. I'm always excited to see what the future holds!

Now that we’re all excited for the second NSZK of the season, a quick throwback to the NSZK I in Nijmegen. It was an amazing weekend full of gezelligheid🌀💙.
