We warmly invite you to the opening session of our new public series ‘In the Making’ on Sunday 26 November.

Organised as a collaboration between ACPA and Art Institute West Den Haag, the ‘In the Making’ series presents to the public different practices of research in the arts.

This series will open up with a session dedicated to Lebanese artist Rabih Mroué. Mroué is an internationally acclaimed theatre director, actor, visual artist and playwright whose work interrogates the articulation of fiction, representation and mediation. Throughout the years, he has developed a unique form of performative works he calls “non-academic lectures”. In these works he addresses the socio-politic reality of his home country and the middle-east, while regularly questioning how our knowledge of the real is produced.

In this session, Rabih Mroué will enter into a dialogue with art curator and critic Nat Muller, photographer Andrea Stultiens and art historian Sven Lütticken.

We hope you will join us!

Regular ticket 5 euro, free admission for students and teaching staff. Get your (free) ticket here: https://InTheMaking-1.eventbrite.nl

In This is not a dance, theatre maker Nastaran Razawi Khorasani brings the voices of choreographers and dancers living in Iran to the stage. How are they dealing with the ban on dance? How do they practice their profession, what dangers do they face, what freedoms are they fighting for? This is not a dance is a tribute to the body that wants to move. A tribute to art that simply must be made, in whatever way, shape or form.
