Do you know what would be a good move?♟️ Participating in the free Shogi Workshop: Japanese Chess organized by the Dutch Shogi Association (Nederlandse Shogi Bond) and the Embassy of Japan! On March 15, you will learn all about this special Japanese game that reminds of chess at the Cultural Center at the Embassy! Register soon because there are limited places available. More information can be found on the poster below!

In the midst of Corona panicking we still managed to held our annual Shogi & Beer tournament. After four rounds, we got three strong champions. Congratulations to:
1st: Lex van der Lubbe
2nd: Jona Ruiz
3rd: Bart De Schepper

Also a lot of thanks to all the shogi players coming from Germany, Spain, Belgium and the UK. And many thanks to all the Dutch players joining us. Further we wish you all good health.

Hey all, we want to inform the players that participate in the Shogi and Beer tournament. The event will still take place this weekend. Regarding the new rules from the Dutch government since we have less than 100 participants fortunately the tournament is still on. In case you have (mild) symptoms the advice is to stay at home.
See you all this weekend in the Hague and good luck. In case of updates they will be posted online.

PS: our government also suggest us to not shake hands. So let's do a Japanese bow instead. And don't forget to wash hands often.

Cold wind that strongly blew by the beach last weekend, didn't make our shogi and fireworks tournament of 2018 less exciting! After six rounds in two days, we got three strong champions. Congratulations to:
1st: Marc Theeuwen
2nd: Twan Burg
3rd: Atsushi Suzaki

Also a lot of thanks to all the shogi players coming from Germany, Spain, Belgium and France. And many thanks to the all the Dutch players joining us.

Proud to have two members of our shogi club Tokin to win the second and third place of the II OPEN SHOGI Barcelona.

Also many thanks to the host Jona Ruiz to bring such a great time! We are happy to have made more shogi friends from Barcelona.

Some of our members went and visited the 5th Liège Shogi Tournament. It was well organized with a lot of strong and friendly players. Here is a short photo impressions.

We hope to visit again next year!

Last Sunday some of us went and promoted shogi at Japanmarkt 2018 in Leiden.

Seems like we're going to have more junior players in the Netherlands, hopefully✌️
