❗ REMINDER: PhD webinar ❗

On Tuesday July 5th, from 11.00-12.15, Student Career Services organizes a webinar about PhD for all students of Tilburg University. If you are thinking about doing a PhD and starting a career as a researcher, this webinar is very interesting for you. 🎓

The first part will be a general session where Academic transfer will provide you with more general information. In the second part of the webinar we will split up in groups
per school where you get specific information about the process of becoming
a PhD’er within your school. During this part of the webinar, a current PhD'er will also join the session to share his/her experience and answer your questions.

On Friday July 8th, Student Career Services organizes a workshop 'Orientation on Master's choice'. During the workshop you will learn about decision-making processes and different styles of decision-making. You will identify and explore your skills and interests. You will also look at which criteria are important to you in a study program. You will work on assignments designed to give you better insight into what might suit you best.

You will conclude the workshop with an individual meeting with your Career Coach. At this meeting, we will also discuss what else you need to make the right decision and how to go about this.

Student Career Services (SCS) organizes an online Masterclass about how to create a professional CV & LinkedIn profile!

When: Tuesday June 7th, 2022 from 16.45h-17.45h
Invitation for: all Tilburg University students

Anne van der Velden and Ingrid Oonk, both Career Services Officers at Tilburg University, will answer questions such as:
✅ How do recruiters look at a resume?
✅ What do they select on?
✅ How do I increase the chance of being invited for an interview?
✅ What kind of information should I provide in my LinkedIn profile?
✅ How can I create an attractive LinkedIn profile?

Of course, there is plenty of room to ask additional questions, as it is an interactive session.

On Monday May 23 from 10.45-12.00 Student Career Services, Asset S&L and IQONIQ are organizing an alumni talk for entrepreneurial students of TiSEM in Intermezzo (first floor). Afterwards you can stay for a lunch to network with the alumni and other entrepreneurs.

The theme of this alumni talk is ‘internationalization’. Harmen van Heist, of Rural Spark, started a business, as a Dutch man, outside of the Netherlands and Indian Pranav Tatali, of Omni Wind, obtained a start-up visa to start his business in the Netherlands.

Both share their inspiring international experience and knowledge as entrepreneurs with you.

On Wednesday May 18, from 15:00 to 16:00, in room CZ 109, economics graduates share their career journey with you and answer your career related questions. They will tell for example: how they found their first job, why they applied for that job, and much more. You will get practical, real-life tips from experts who studied Economics and now work in this field. Afterwards you can join us for drinks and to talk to the alumni in a more informal setting.

On Wednesday, May 18, Asset | Accounting & Finance and Student Career Services host the Information Session Investment Banking. During this session alumnus Lasse Blazejewski who works at Lazard, will tell you all the insides about Investment Banking. He will tell you more about what the job is like, but he will also give you an insight into the application process.

Then, on May 25, Student Career Services and Asset | Accounting & Finance organize the CV session to prepare your CV for a typical Investment Bank application process. We will learn you more about: what increases your chance of getting through the first CV selection round, what selection criteria investment banks use, and much more. 💼

If you are interested in Investment Banking, these sessions could really help you forward. Furthermore, these two events are meant to prepare you for the Banking Days, which will be organized in September.

On May 17, from 15.00-17.15, in room DZ 005, alumni Accountancy and alumni Finance will share their career experience and knowledge during two consecutive interactive sessions organized by Student Career Services and Asset Accounting & Finance.

The speakers will share their career journey with you and answer your career related questions. They will give you insights into, for example, where and how they applied for the job, what they did as a student to prepare for their future career, and much more.

If you are proactively thinking about your future after graduation, registering for this event is highly recommended. You will get practical, real-life tips from experts who studied Accountancy or Finance and now became professionals in their field. 💼

To help you with this preparation Tilburg University organizes the Tilburg University Career Week from April 19 to April 22.

During this week, Student Career Services will offer various Masterclasses on several topics, such as Personal Branding, Real Life Networking, Salary Negotiation, and much more. There will also be an informative session by Netherlands Point of Entry where international (non-EU) students can learn everything about career opportunities in the Netherlands. Additionally, there will be a Career Café on April 21 (with free drinks and bites) where you can get in touch with experienced alumni on different subjects regarding the topic ‘The Future Employee’.
