Day 3 of is a reclined pose.

Viparita Karani is my choice because I’m doing a lot of it this January given the December indulgence.

It’s assisting my kidneys to detox because putting the legs up minimises blood flow to the legs and instead redirects it to the trunk increasing blood amount in the kidneys making them work more.

Day 2 of is seated pose.

I indulge sitting at my window in fire log pose while sipping a hot cup of fruit tea and soaking in the winter sun. It gives me the illusion of warm summer days ✨

Day 1 of is standing pose.

Resting in standing splits with wall support is much more palatable for my hammies since taking a break in December and I’m not complaining 🥰

No matter how wild the ride gets, stay soft.

A month ago I made a post about why you shouldn’t comment on other people’s bodies and the responses I got from the receiving end of body comments got me teary.

It got me thinking how can we create a sustainable body image?

Surprisingly, even though exercising is good for us, it isn’t the answer.

Stay with me…

The issue with exercising is the primary reason, for many its to meet society’s volatile size standards.

The good news….

It’s possible to shift from this to a healthy, sustainable primary, but we have to peel more layers.

Self love!

You’re going to start dating your body and cultivate a healthy relationship with it.

The same way you would send a special person a good morning message,

Think: what does my body need right now?

Then listen, it will tell you I promise.

Mind your posture, body could do with less tension & pain

Take a step back when on your period, support it’s seasonal transitions.

Journal about it…

On Monday, I will be sending out 7 Journal prompts about loving your body.

Your trauma response is not your fault, it’s a defensive construct you made in your early years to survive the traumatic events that unfolded in your eyes.

Though, it’s your responsibility to acknowledge that those events are far behind you now and the traumatic response is no longer needed.

It’s now safe to start deconstructing, start now before the very tactics that helped you survive start ruining your relationships and chances of making meaningful connections.

Running for my mental health >>> running for weight loss

It’s time to change the narrative bestie, bc running for weight loss is not sustainable:
Either, once you achieve your goal the mind shall not feel motivated to keep going or the goal might take longer than expected and it shall feel discouraged and give up!

On the other hand, running for your mental health is sustainable bc your mind is the only thing in this wide world you have control over, everything else including your body is beyond your control.

If you give your mind the time to organically fall in love with running at a slow but steady pace, it will reward you with a very firm foundation of self love that will open your eyes wide enough to see how ridiculous society’s body standards are!

Forget working out for body aesthetics! Do you know how good it feels mentally, the effect it has on your self esteem?!

✨Story time✨

I’ve been running this week 5 times in a row and for someone on holiday in Paris, queue the Aperol spritz royal, going to bed past midnight, I found my commitment to a 5 km running every morning rather out of character.

Then yesterday, I noticed something had changed about my body, not the weight ofcos but the body language, it was giving!!!!

I was on the metro, and noticed the way I was standing, confidently with an open chest, self esteem filling the metro that there wasn’t room for body consciousness, and the best part, my general positive outlook on everything, even the not very nice Parisiennes have nothing on me! Yeah that good 😌

In that moment I thought, this is it, this is why why I force myself to wear those running shoes every morning to run through a polluted city filled with moving cars and habibi calling males.

This is why I do it all, yoga, breathing and now running! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to put 2 and 2 together but I’m proud of how I’ve arrived independently!!!

3 reasons you should never comment on peoples weight loss or gain.

1. Many people who have been compliment on weight loss say it was right after a bed ridden illness that almost claimed their lives.

2. Many people who are gaining weight are recovering from an eating disorder. Do you see how your comment might trigger a relapse?

3. Another person’s body is none of your business.

Photos from Nansera wellness's post 04/08/2022

Did you know that you can heal your chakras [energy channels] without doing yoga asanas [poses] ?

And surprisingly, this is what’s most practical for many!

If you don’t feel like yoga asana flowing, walking barefoot on grass or earth is another way to heal and align your root chakra.

Are you one of the people who would rather heal and align their chakras off the yoga mat?

Well then, join the align yoga retreat for tips to heal and align your chakras beyond the yoga mat.

Let's be honest, the yoga asanas might have gotten your attention [click bait] but it's not why you need yoga. You know it, I know it, and so does your body but they are fun plus, an important foundation for your practice.

I’ve also found it rewarding when I finally get into the full expression of a pose, it feels good, a representation of my committment, capability and bravery and it even keeps me going.

But that's not why I do yoga.
✨I do yoga to feel good; feel strong, while keeping it light both physically and mentally.
✨ To heal, to get relief from body ailments basically to feel without pain or discomfort!

Do you want to feel good, to be okay with solitude, to get relief from a bloated stomach, to feel content in life? Then yoga is a good answer.

Comment what you want and I shall tell you how yoga can get you there.

During my flow, I like to take a step back from the outward world and journey inwards, it’s a time I dedicate to personal growth and learning at a relaxed pace. This is how I honor my body, by tapping into the wise woman feminine archetype.

Being able to do this is a privilege I don’t take for granted, and the fact that it’s 2022 yet many women still don’t have the privilege to stay home on the first day of their flow. Sad :(

Ladies how do you get through the first days of your flow?

One thing Yoga has taught me is that you don’t gain flexibility from practicing yoga, you rather let go of the tension buildup that has accumulated overtime, but the flexibility, you were born with that, it’s your natural state.

As life weighed in with its inevitables; stress, bad eating habits, poor posture, trauma you name it, gradually you accumulated tension, long enough that you now identify with it, you’re so used to it because your nature as a human is to adapt to circumstances.

Yoga is a vehicle that can be used to journey within and clear out this tension which is on all levels foreign to the human body, so foreign that it causes pain, discomfort, and even worse shorten time on earth.

You’re not the tension you embody, rather the flexibility that’s oppressed underneath.

Happy Monday 🧘🏽‍♀️

After I got an accident, I was physically and more mentally in pain, looking death that close in the eyes was such a traumatic experience.

Tbh I identified with that experience for a long time and let it become my identity and didn’t ever think a time would come where I would be able to separate myself from it, but here I am now.

Due to that experience, I met yoga, and now, I’m low key grateful for it.

How were you introduced to yoga?
