we will be closed until july 22nd because we are doing some work that we have been procrastinating to get done 😅
When we open again we will have
-a new steel plate under the stove
-de-rusted, welded and painted stove (with stove paint! Who knew that existed!!)
-brushed, linseed-oiled and pine-sap'ed outside walls 🤩
-linseed-oiled inside walls and floors
-sanded window frames
-thoroughly washed all the salt away after people used salt water on the stove in the winter.
Which resaulted in a huge hole in the steel plate and a even a small hole i the stove!!

DO NOT USE SALT WATER ON SAUNA STOVES THANKS 💚

The oil need some time to dry so we will keep it closed until we are back from a litle family roadtrip time.
We are very excited to open again with the new steel plate and stove-look 🤩

✨LYS✨ det har vært litt mangelfult gjennom vinteren. Men vi har endelig kommet frem til en god løsning.
Vi prøvde å finne en gammel batteridrevet utelampe som kunne henge utenfor vinduet og lyse innover, men det var ikke lett! Så denne lampen blir den første og forhåpentligvis siste tingen vi kjøper ny 😁

I år er den fysiske bøsseaksjonen byttet ut med digital bøssebæring. Jeg håper at venner, familie, bekjente, ukjente og brukere av RØKT har lyst til å gi et bidrag. Bli med i kampen mot plast i havet, hvert bidrag nytter 💙

RØKT sin digitale bøsse til TV-aksjonen Gi et bidrag på den digitale TV-aksjonsbøssa! I år går TV-aksjonen til WWFs arbeid for å bekjempe plast i havet.

Årets TV aksjon går til WWFs arbeid mot plast i havet.
En sak som fikk hjertene våre til å hoppe over et slag og gi nytt liv til vårt engasjement for naturen og klimaet.
Vi har registrert oss som digital bøssebærer (link i Bio fra mandag 5 oktober) og vil donere alle pengene som kommer inn i løpet av drop in tidene mandag- onsdag i uke 41 og 42 til denne saken.
Vi håper så mange som mulig kommer innom i disse dagene, og at de av dere som ikke har mulighet ønsker å støtte tv-aksjonen gjennom en digital bøsse.
Sammen skal vi redusere plastutslippene og ta vare på verdenshavene! 💓🙏🏼

We started building Røkt in the little town if Frinnaryd, Sweden it’s amazing to think that we made it this far. The idea was to build a sauna out of recycled materials that we could travel around europe with as we rented it out. Our world today is so filled with waste that nobody knows what to do with, some of which is nearly impossible to clean up such as microplastics. We beleive in moving towards reusing our waste as a collective humanity and this was our first step! Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us for the past few months. The sauna caravan is coming along and should be about done in the next month. We had to switch locations to another workshop so Campbell is driving from Frinnaryd up to Ørnskøldsvik in the north of sweden. Its going to be cold working up there but it will be worth it.

Pia and Campbell are getting started on building their mobile vardo sauna out of an old caravan frame. Here is what it looks like after a long day of tearing it down to the bear bones.
