Mitahara's Food Literacy Program is designed to educate about food and nutrition in a fun, engaging, and approachable manner. It is a campaign for the general people where we talk about the basics of food and nutrition, the intersection between food & health and how can we promote our well-being by maintaining proper diet.
We have been running a series of Events and campaigns in recent times to promote Healthy and Nutritious Eating.

It will be delivered by Supriya Bhattarai, who is an expert in the field of nutrition and agriculture. Supriya Bhattarai is a Clinical and sports nutritionist and a strong advocate for 'moderate eating'. She is interested in sports physiology, gut health, nutritional biodiversity, human behaviorism, and genetics. She is co-founder of Mitahara, an enterprise that aims to change eating habits in the country by promoting sustainable and healthy food choices. She has worked as a Clinical nutritionist at Hams Hospital and Arogin Care Home for about two years. Supriya is a faculty member and researcher at the College of Applied Food and Dairy Technology. Supriya has had media appearances on BBC, News 24, and the good health podcast.

As the continuation of our Food Literacy Campaign, it is our fourth episode which will be conducted on the topic - Enhancing Well-being through Food & Nutrition Education for Young Adults. The session will be conducted in an interactive and learning manner in collaboration with Hub Kathmandu .

"Mitahara Empowers National Cricket Team with Food and Nutrition Education"

Mitahara, a socially responsible nutritional expert company that promotes healthy eating habits and a sustainable food system, has organized a workshop on 'Improving Performance with Good Nutrition' for national cricket team in collaboration with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The objective of the program was to educate and sensitize national cricket teams about the impact of food on overall performance.

Shweta Bagla decided to turn to Mitahara for assistance with both her weight and thyroid issues, having made no progress for some time. With coexisting hypothyroidism, her struggle to manage her weight was only made worse by accompanying knee and ankle pain.

She started out at 74.8 kg, and by the end of the journey, 3 months later, she had reached 65 kg with improved health.

Sticking to health and lifestyle goals might be difficult if done alone, if you do with your own partners, it can make the process fun. You both will have the support of each other and can help each other be motivated and accountable.

Here are few fun things you can do together to achieve your health goals

1. Cook together: This will help both the partner to come up with healthy recipes together and stay motivated to eat healthy.

2. Go grocery shopping together - Plan your grocery shopping together and try to focus on healthy and seasonal foods. This will help you and your partner stay healthy as there is no processed foods at home. And also, not keeping any unhealthy foods in the house will help you choose the healthy options which are readily available in the house.

3. Pre-plan your meals together - Pre planning your meals priorly helps both the partners to decide on what they want to eat. This way they will have ample time to decide on healthy options. And
also, if you have pre planned your meals, on the days when you are super tired and hungry, you will not tend to order foods from restaurant or grab a piece a chip available nearby.

4. Share your food when out: whenever you are out for some event or you are simply visiting the restaurant, make sure you share your favorite food, that way you will prevent yourself from eating excess calories.

5. Avoid late night snacking together: The partners can motivate each other to have their meals properly throughout the day so that they wonтАЩt have any cravings at night for snacks.
