The Chhath Puja is dedicated to Surya Dev or the sun God along with his sister Shashti Devi, often referred as "Chhathi Goddess".
This year, it is being celebrated in Nepal from November 17th to November 20th mainly after Deepawali.
Devotees engage in rituals like fasting and standing in the sacred water of the Ganga or other holy rivers and perform distinct 'puja' to show their devotion.
Happy Chhath Puja! 🎉
On the fifth day of Tihar, sisters express their sincere wishes for their brothers' longevity, well-being, and prosperity. This is done with utmost respect, faith, and loyalty through the application of Pancharangi or Saptarangi tika. This day is known as ‘Bhai Tika’.
There is an exchange of money, food and gifts between brothers and sisters after applying the tika. The sisters receive money and the brothers receive food, dry fruits and gifts.
Happy Bhai Tika!
Mha Puja (Nepal Bhasa Script: 𑐴𑑂𑐩𑐥𑐸𑐖𑐵) is an annual ritual performed by the Newar people of Nepal to purify and empower the soul as part of New Year celebrations.
It is performed on New Year's Day of Nepal Sambat, the national lunar calendar of Nepal, which occurs during the Swanti festival.
Mha Puja means "worship of the self" in Newari, and it celebrates the spirit within oneself. The ceremony signifies an auspicious beginning of the New Year, and invokes prosperity and longevity for the participant.

In the evening, groups of people continue to visit houses, engaging in Deusi, a musical performance. In return for their songs and blessings for the well-being of the house, homeowners provide money, food, or gifts to these visitors.
