Humanitarian Cash Not Accelerating Aid Delivery in Nepal’s Earthquake Response In Nepal, more than two months after a major earthquake killed more than 150 people and destroyed or damaged over 60,000 homes, humanitarian cash assistance continues to play a minor role in the country’s disaster response

Birthday Celebration at ARIA!

On the start of a new year 2024, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating birthday of our teammate Benju and oh how fun it was! It's a happy tradition here at Aria to celebrate together a team member's special day. We wish Benju a happy birthday once again!

Today, 2nd of Magh, marks the 90th anniversary of the destructive earthquake of 1990 BS, an event so devastating that it became an immortal anecdote among the Nepalese. This day was later declared as National Earthquake Safety Day to commemorate the natural atrocities and damages caused by the "नब्बे सालको भुकम्प " that happened during the Rana rule.

Today, we come together to remember the lessons learned and raise awareness on Earthquake Safety. The devastating earthquakes of the past, while etched in our memories, also serve as a reminder of our unwavering spirit, the importance of being prepared and the dedication of our first responders. This National Earthquake Safety Day, let's pledge to build a more resilient Nepal.

Few glimpses of Aria Solutions team facilitating Digital Financial Literacy training for 28 participants, mostly women, at Hotel Rubus in Dhangadi of Kailali district. The 2-day training had been organised by Dan Church Aid for the AADHAR project in partnership with DWRFM, with an objective to train Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs) about digital financial literacy as well as collect data through digital means.

As part of the Telethon: Child, Not Bride Project implemented by Plan International Nepal and Aasaman Nepal, a training and orientation program was facilitated by the Aria team to equip vendors in Dhanusha district with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the Laligurans Mobile App for value voucher distribution.

The main objective of the program was to train vendors on the functionalities of the Laligurans Mobile App for efficient value voucher distribution; enhance vendor understanding and capacity of program objectives; promote transparency and accountability in the value voucher distribution process and eventually build trust and confidence among vendors and beneficiaries.

Another month and another fun session of "Midweek Masti" is back!

This month we planned a simple and short yet effective game for our team members called "Birthday Lineup". It's a simple game that instills qualities like leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

The participants were divided into 2 groups of 7 each and were asked to stand side-by-side. Then we asked them to stand in order of their birthday (month and day). The catch to this simple game was participants had to complete the entire task without talking to each other, and could only use signs and symbols to get into order.

The 2 teams were quite swift and completed the task within 3 minutes, but the winning team was faster and beat their opponents by 1 whole minute!

Thanks to our team players, coordinators and videographer for making this session a fun success. See you next month!



('Midweek Masti' is a monthly team building session for our esteemed team members, where we do various fun activities. They are light, informative and a great way to learn about different elements essential to work as a team.)

This week's Hike with Aria session was a blend of unique and interesting as our colleague Mr Hem Raj Giri took us all to a journey of Mushrooms and how it's cultivated in Nepal! And that's exactly the point of having these weekly sessions, that our team members can present on anything and everything. :D

Thank you Hem Raj for your insighful presentation and for sharing your in hand experience on "Mushroom Cultivation in Nepal". Definitely a refreshing change for all of the team members.

Hike with Aria is an in-house knowledge sharing initiative that happens every week on Fridays. It is open for both in-house staff and guest facilitators where we gather to share our passions, insights, and expertise through engaging presentations on diverse topics.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Plan International Nepal for the invitation and an opportunity to share our CEO, Mr Bibhor Kayastha's entrepreneurial journey and talk about his leadership style with their senior management team at an event today.

The interaction was quite engaging, particularly discussions about building strategic partnerships between development agencies and private sector organizations were stimulating. We are grateful for Plan International's commitment to fostering dialogue and promoting innovation within the entrepreneurial and development communities.

Aria Technologies participated in Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MOFAGA)’s Cash and Voucher guideline final review workshop, organized by Cash Coordination Group (CCG) and supported by UNICEF and Save the Children. The guideline is intended to be a guiding document for local government bodies to implement CVA activities in humanitarian context.

This week on our weekly Hike with Aria session, we had a "Celebration Hike", where our 2 youngest team members and tech enthusiasts, Shuvanjan Thapaliya and Ishan Maharjan shared their experience of transition from joining Aria Technologies as interns to being real project contributors.
