Guess what? The boys at the workshop are creating something innovative and amazing!
This striking khukuri originated as a custom order for Shawn Hatcher from Hatcher Knives. Inspired by an image he saw online, Shawn was captivated by its bold profile and distinctive fuller, which influenced his own khukuri designs, especially the expertly ground spinal fullers now signature to his work. Unable to find an original, he commissioned a replica from us.

NEW DESIGN:
Our bhura has been seeing a lot of love lately and we've had some enquiries from people who like the blade style but wish it was a little bigger and more capable. Seemed like a nice idea and a gap in our lineup so we've gone ahead and released a roided up 6 inch bhura.
As the blade has been stretched out it benefits from a larger and gentler belly for superior surface work, a wider straight carving section near the bolster and a significantly less stubby tip that's a bit better for fine work and ease of pe*******on.
The spine thickness has also been increased slightly at the bolster to 4.5mm to give a little more insurance in the rowdier work that this knife will now be seeing.
This specific blade has a large rosewood handle, polished finish, brass hardware, performance grind and traditional dap.
Check it out in the Modern section today!
Any guesses on the knife Siru's got in hand?
The Nepali khukuri, a traditional curved knife, has a history dating back centuries. Originating in Nepal, it was initially a utility tool for daily chores, hunting, and warfare. Its design evolved over time, blending functionality with symbolism and becoming a revered cultural icon. The khukuri's reputation spread beyond Nepal, gaining recognition for its effectiveness and craftsmanship. Today, it remains an integral part of Nepali culture and heritage, symbolizing bravery, strength, and national pride.

The Bush Cleaver boasts a substantial 13-inch blade, the widest in Kailash Blades' collection, which is renowned for its broad selection. Its extended height provides unparalleled power and solidity across its moderate length, facilitating a steep semi-convex grind for exceptional cutting efficiency and penetrating capability. This grind culminates in a massive 8mm spine, ensuring resilience and durability for demanding tasks like prying. Complementing the primary grind is a robust convex secondary grind, characteristic of Kailash Blades' commitment to durability while minimizing cutting resistance at the edge. Inspired by the design of a meat cleaver, the blade incorporates thoughtful adaptations for enhanced functionality.

Since the original M43 was initially a custom design, the overwhelming demand for a serious martial arts blade prompted its integration into our regular lineup.
Derived from the MkII khukuri, which saw use from 1915 until 1944, the m43 introduced the concept of a full tang construction, enhancing the blade's durability significantly. Notably, it featured a solid welded front bolster and sunken pins in the handle, distinguishing it from other khukuris of its time. However, this redesign focuses primarily on the elegant blade shape. Characterized by its broad profile and smooth, gentle curves, it exudes a refined aesthetic, less eccentric than many other khukuris on the market.

Men at Work!
In Frame : Srikrishna "Siru" Karki
Karki isn't a name you'd usually hear in the world of making knives. Srikrishna is different because he's from a caste in Nepal that's usually involved in government work, but he chose to become a knifemaker because he really loves it. This different way of doing things has been a big part of his work for more than 13 years.
Falo in Action !!
The Falo khukuri isn’t a traditional pattern specifically, it doesn’t originate from one village or have a history of use in a specific conflict. Instead this is our attempt to produce a knife that’s shares the unique features that are present in the khukuris used by Blacksmiths in their work. These knives are usually less detailed, with a rougher finish and a focus on practicality and a good balance for long, hard work. Used for rough carving the handles, shaping the handle scales, testing hardness and notching metal for cutting, these knives are workhorses. Plain and simple.

Bikram proudly presents his creation, "Aaringal." The Nepali name, Aaringal, meaning "Hornet," is a fitting choice. For those seeking an incredibly impressive and commanding blade that truly reflects the maker's passion, Aaringal stands out as a remarkable choice.
The Modern Service Issue knife differs from traditional historical versions in its shorter and stouter design, measuring at a compact 10.5 inches in length and boasting a nearly full 10mm thick spine. Both the primary and secondary grinds are notably thicker, enhancing the knife's robustness and durability. While this thickness may limit its effectiveness in brush clearing or deep chopping, it adds substantial heft to a relatively short blade. Thanks to Kailash's enhanced heat treatment process, this knife surpasses its predecessors in toughness, rendering it virtually indestructible.
Thanks, Brent Aaron, for your thoughtful words! We trust you enjoyed your time with the blades!
