Looks like it's gonna be a fine Saturday in between a bunch of rainy days. Fingers crossed we don't get any rain on the day! 🤞

Hi everyone! My name is Nikki and along with my partner Chris, we are the creators and bakers of Sweet Haven.
This post is well overdue and I'm nervous to share but I feel like God has put it on my heart to share my story and how Sweet Haven has come to be.

For the past 30 years, my life has been far from boring with countless holidays, successful jobs and I'm lucky to have very supportive and loving family and friends surrounding me each day.
But 2 to 3 years ago, my life would be changed forever. I was thrown into a world I never knew existed, a life I was sheltered from as a child.
I was diagnosed with a number of mental illnesses and a new life I had to relearn to live.
I was hospitalised, given many different medications and countless doctors visits.
It rocked my world and those around me.
I wish I could say this is the end of my post, but it's just the beginning.

At the beginning of this year, my world was rocked once again. I was trialed on a new medication that my body did not react well to. As a result, I spent days in hospital with many tests done like MRI and CT scans to see what was wrong with me.
I was finally given a diagnoses of tourettes.
I struggle to do daily tasks and even drive when it comes to my tourettes, so returning back to work seemed like a very far a glooming goal for me to reach. I've worked most of my adult life so naturally it upset me immensely. I needed to work to live, not only financially but emotionally.

Sweet Haven was created to be a light in my life, to keep myself busy to better my own mental health.
My goal for Sweet Haven is to not only be a light in my life, but to use a God given love to help and be a light in those that also suffer with mental health and tourettes.

We're excited to venture off on this new adventure and I'm looking forward to see where it takes us and I can't wait to share it with as many people as we can. Give our page a like and a follow for further updates to see what we get up to

Had a blast baking in the kitchen on Friday for Carboot Sale today that my wonderful brother was able to sell for me as I was unfortunately unable to be there early morning.
The moment I arrived, I was greeted with smiles and wonderful feedback on how good Sweet Havens cookies and afghans were, along with sad faces that we all sold out.
We will be at Elim Carboot Sale next weekend again and I'll be making extra for those that missed out.
If you don't want to miss out, I do take preorders and will make sure I bake to fill them all to be ready for you on Saturday morning 😊😊
