Warning
Don’t read on if you’re a nutter or anti-vaxxer
Ok believers ( and you filthy non believers and anti vaxxers who’ve decided to read today’s epistle )
Here is today’s sermon from the real pulpit of truth
We all have a responsibility to get vaccinated
It’s safe
It’s protects us, and it protects those you love, your family, friends, whanau, workmates….
Pfizer and the current vaccines available are simple mRNA technology ( except for Novavax, but I’ll deal with that later )
Do not be spooked by the b/s on the internet, or from “someone who knows a bloke whose missus dropped dead after being vaxxed, and they had to bury her in a black coffin because she glowed in the dark”
nRMA has been around for 30 years
It didn’t really have a commercial application until early this century when two Turkish immigrant doctors, living in Germany, Sahin & Tureci if you want to Google them, started BioNTech ( later they co-opted Pfizer in to develop the C19 vaccine ) and simultaneously another company, ModeRNA, now Moderna, was formed by a Lebanese Armenian immigrant to the USA, I can’t remember his name ( note the pattern with ambitious migrants who change the world though ) and they formed a relationship with AstraZeneca to develop mRNA technology, but for different targets than the current COVID
I don’t think Moderna has another commercial product actually, most of their clinical trials came to nothing
Anyway these companies were beavering away targeting things like melanoma vaccines, stem cell treatments for heart function, that sort of “lab rat” boring s**t
When the C19 pandemic hit the fan these technologies were well advanced, and a perfect fit to fight this virus
Those who claim the vaccines happened too quick are full of shxt…. the technology had been there for years, clinical trials had been underway multiple times, but what mRNA really needed was a commercial application. That’s what COVID gave it, an opportunity
The FDA licensed these vaccines under urgency, but not until they’d done phase 3 clinical trials
Don’t forget these scientists had already dealt with two other coronavirus outbreaks, SARS & MERS, this wasn’t exactly new to them, and many other pharmaceutical companies tried to produce effective vaccines to treat COVID, but they failed the clinical trials so never made it to the therapeutic level
The two that did make it are good, Novavax, the third, will be even better
mRNA is not complicated, it’s just a lipid covered single strand protein, and it stimulates your immune system to fight C19 by making versions of the Corona spike protein, which your body then uses to recognise the virus as a pathogen, and to fight it
This is an aside but this technology will eventually be standard practice to treat many cancers using immunotherapy
Anyway, I digress
The takeaway here is that this is safe technology
It’s a life saver on a global scale
The internut is full of dangerous disinformation, ignore it
Our world is by nature a dangerous place, this won’t be the last pandemic ( I remind you the Black Death plague wiped out 50% of the population of Europe in the 14th century ), but using mRNA technology we can react to new viruses, tweak the vaccine as required ( check Novovax, it’s exciting but slightly older technology ) and use targeted RNA guided genetic editing to make the world a better and safer place
I’ll close by saying this
Humans are f # # amazing as a species
Human technology will almost always rise to the top in a time of crisis, as this pandemic is
Great things come from great science, embrace it, and don’t be a dangerous fu****rd antivaxxing imbecile
The mayor has spoken

Many people know and love , for some it is their drink of choice.
But what few people know is just how many variations of Jameson there are. Well, we have 11 of them on our shelves, including old reliable. We’re especially big fans of the deconstructed series, that’s a 3 bottle series where the masters over in Ireland have taken the whiskies they use to blend normal Jameson’s, and isolate and amplify the key flavours Lively, Round and Bold, and when you try them we think you’ll agree they have done a bloody good job at it too.
We love to champion the produce of our beautiful Aotearoa. Which is why we love these premium edition products.
For those who don’t know, Little Biddy take their name from a legend in the Reefton area, Little Biddy was a 4ft tall gold miner, who was known for always having two things close by, Gin, and her trusty to***co pipe.
Many of their native botanicals are foraged from the same West Coast Rainforest where Biddy was once hunting for gold.
Gold label can be described as having an earthy mineral rich flavour, preceded by a lively spice that is almost effervescent.
Black Label is more of a crisp and clean style, which leads the way for many layers and characteristics to develop.
The Pinot Noir Cask Aged takes a great amount of flavour from those barrels, sweet and nutty, with just the right amount of spice.
At Little HQ you can try all three of these and the standard Little Biddy Dry, which is always a crowd favourite. (beware, the Pinot Cask is a limited release, so don’t dwell on it)
Who doesn’t love a good deal?

Not a problem with these equal parts weird and wonderful creations.
First up, a gin infused with Sugar Kelp (that’s seaweed or algae to us simple folk)
Next we have Sheep’s Milk and Honey gin, it is what it says on the tin, but a bloody interesting drop.
3rd in line is Floraison, this is gin with grapes?!?! Ugni Blanc Grapes to be specific.
Last, but certainly not least, is Juniper Cask, now we’ve all heard about juniper berries, but the team of crazy Swedes over at Hernö have only gone and crafted a barrel from Juniper wood and aged the gin in it😮😮
Come see us and give them a try.
