Fat Kitty is temporarily closed while we transform from a cafe in to our new concept 💚

I snapped barely any pictures of the mountains of catering that we sent out last week, but here’s a pic of the Chicken Katsu (& Tofu Katsu) Poke Bowls that were a HUGE hit with the client 😍

Late Night (& Events) for the next couple of weeks are cancelled, and next week 29th May-4th June we will only be open on the weekend.

It’s the age old equation of you only have so much time, energy & resources and we have to prioritise certain things more while everything is up in the air with the cafe & our next project.

I’ll be making another video soon to update you all on what I can, and I very much apologise for not being able to stick to our scheduled plans. I’m extremely disappointed as well as generally just really sad that we aren’t able to stay here and keep doing what we’re doing but that’s late stage capitalism for you.

The Countdown to Mothers Day is On! Sunday 14th May, we’ll be open 9am to 3pm and are preparing for a busy one, treat mum right by booking in a table. We’ll have the brand new menu, a fully loaded cabinet full of mums favourite treats and the coffee machine cranking ☕️

Not that we went anywhere but we’ve got more energy than we’ve had in months and we’re throwing ourselves back in to the cafe. This means pies and sammie’s will be back very very soon (blame Jarrads burnout), online content (I know ya’ll are so keen to see more of these Photoshoot images) & more fun things (we’ll still be trying to keep our hours down though since we really learnt our lesson about burnout). So with your help, let’s grow the sh*t out of Fat Kitty over the next 12 months 🙌🙌 we’ve worked SO DAMN HARD to get here and we’re *hopefully* over the hardest part of a new business now. For our sanity & quality of life we’re making some changes to our hours - most noticeably that on Tuesdays we will no longer open at midday.
We’ll also be closing an hour earlier week days and also at 3pm on Sundays.
I know you’ll all support this for us because we’ve never tried to hide how incredibly hard it is on the two of us consistently working 70hr weeks during a pandemic for very very little money and a lot of stress and risk.
We’ll be using this extra time to be more present in our real lives and relationships.
At the end of the day, your job isn’t your life and you deserve more than to use your little amount of time off resting and recovering just so that you can spend more time working.
These little changes will make a big difference for us (9.5hrs less time open a week, 40hrs less a month, about 470hrs less a year). It really adds up

A Fat Kitty Omelette will 100% ruin any and all future omelettes you eat 🤷‍♀️ Sorry not sorry 🙃✌️ This menu’s version is a Vegetarian & Dairy Free Vindaloo Omelette with a touch of spice and a heckkk of a lot of flavour (the green chilli pickle on top is Insane). Can’t recommend it enough if you’re an egg eater!!
