Despite appearances, I am not being told off for using my phone in class….merely concentrating on taking a screenshot, while not looking like I was taking a screenshot 🕵🏻‍♀️

My dear friend Catherine teaches a Media and Communications programme at a university in Toronto. She recently asked if I’d be keen to talk to her graduating class in Freelance & Small Business Development about how we created The Tea Box, challenges, learnings...all the good stuff that small business owners encounter.

While my initial thought was “I don’t know much about much” it turned out to be a fun talk, and I was pleased I actually had a lot to share. Q & A with the students was also good, where we delved into important questions such as “what do I do if the pearls from my local boba shop aren’t chewy?” There were some deeper questions too, on topics such as how we make the decision between importing vs. sourcing from local suppliers…however the answer to the chewy pearls dilemma was: this is always a risk when buying bubble tea near the end of the day.

Until mid-April there are various events throughout Auckland celebrating our multicultural community 😊. We’ll be heading to the Orient Wonderland market in Mount Eden on Saturday 6th April!
