Blessed, most blessed, to be doing what I love, with people I love, for people to connect with love. A weekend spent in service, creating food for participants in a life-changing retreat led by Christof and Alaya, one of which I’ve participated in and facilitated on several times. This time I stepped into a new capacity as event caterer, donning my Wholefood Kitchen cap to generate wholesome nourishing food throughout the weekend to support the participants on their extraordinary process of death and birth. Filled with gratitude to be part of this process, and come together with this team to produce something magical. As ever, the kitchen always attracts special gems, and I was blessed to be joined in the kitchen by Vernessa and Madeleine to bring exactly what was required and to remind me of we can only ever do this together. Walking each other home to ourselves, back to love, back to source. Kai Aroha plays a significant part in this journey for me, and the path through which I can offer my gifts, access abundance, connect with my heart and family. Tomorrow, I'll be heading a kitchen team (in collaboration with Kai Aroha) at the Vision West kitchens, preparing a delicious Black Bean Stew with Corn Bread to feed New Lynn locals at the Community Centre, from 12.45-2pm, part of a weekly Community Meal initiative.
This is the initiative I'm proud to be involved with, in partnership with the Amazing team at Glen Avon Community Hub, led by RJ Thomson. We'll be serving delicious, nourishing meals to the local New Lynn community for the next few weeks, and using this opportunity for people to come into the kitchen to tap into the spirit of Kotahitanga, through the preparation and sharing of food, and celebration of abundance which is available to all. This is the spirit of The Wholefood Kitchen, and the spirit of Kai Aroha. All welcome 🙏
I'm delighted to announce the launch of The Wholefood Kitchen 'bespoke cooking clinics.'
Often the challenge we face in the kitchen, is the acquisition of new skills. We are often faced with limits in our technical ability; our knowledge about certain foods and how they can be used; and that old chestnut ‘time’ – all of which impact on our confidence and enjoyment of cooking. The Wholefood Kitchen clinics are safe, supportive spaces for you to enrich your relationship with cooking.
You may want to learn how to cook a range of nourishing meals for your whanau. You may want to learn how to cook a particular dish or dishes, or simply enjoy the experience of preparing and sharing a meal together with others, over a series of classes. Whatever the case, The Wholefood Kitchen bespoke cooking clinics can be tailored to suit your needs.
