June Squibb is perhaps the busiest 94-year-old in Hollywood. This year alone she’ll voice a role in Inside Out 2, head to New York to star in Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut and film a television series that she can’t quite talk about just yet.

And for the first time in her rich and varied career which has brought her from the stage to an Oscar nomination at 84, she is the lead of a film, Thelma. It’s a grounded but also Mission: Impossible-inspired comedy about a grandmother trying to get her money back from a phone scammer. Thelma goes on a scooter ride across Los Angeles, with the late Richard Roundtree in tow, to right the wrong.

“My friends all laugh at me, like ‘What are you doing next?’” Squibb said in an interview with The Associated Press. “Sometimes I say to my agent, who is here, why are people still asking me to work? But I love it and I do it and it’s been great.”

NELLY JELLY WORLD is screening as part of the Lithuanian Film Festival in New Zealand this Sunday 23rd June, 10am at The Vic! Followed by a drawing workshop 🎨

Based on Lithuania's most popular children's book series, NELLY JELLY WORLD brings the beloved character to life. Nelly Jelly has become a cultural phenomenon in Lithuania, enchanting children with her adventurous spirit and curious nature.

Following the film, at 11.30am, there will be a drawing workshop led by the renowned artist of Lithuanian heritage, Robyn Penn! Known for her mesmerizing cloud drawings, Robyn will be sharing her expertise and creativity with kids and their parents right after the children's film screening.
