I just had a new client book in from…Arizona!
It still boggles my brain that that is even possible 😳🙌
And, just like that...she was done for the day ✨
Naw! A wee gift of a (fig and brown sugar) candle, and chocolate 😋
That’s noice .nz, thank you - you’re welcome! 👊🏻

I just had a client from Cambridge come to see me!
She had read all the articles on LISA SAID SO (125) - and with some of them, she’d actually read them more than once 🤩🙌
It's very important that you try really hard not to be an ar****le.
Because you being an ar****le is not good for the health of my clients.
Thank you in advance, and I appreciate your help in this matter! 😉x

Thank you for your feedback the other day about HRT (you commented, and messaged me).
It would seem that, apart from a couple of women who didn't respond well to the drugs at all, the overwhelming majority of you say it's helped enormously with your cognition (brain fog), mood issues, hot flushes/sweats, sleep, joint issues, heavy bleeding, skin, and weight management.
(With sleep, hot flushes, and mood improvement being the definite standouts.)
Some have said there was a bit of trial and error to begin with OR they started on Estradot 50g and had to increase to 75mg.
Some women had to stop HRT due to cancers being detected, or due to them being in their 70s.
It very much sounded like most females went on 'this stuff' out of absolute desperation – their symptoms were so severe it was negatively impacting their lives.
May I ask a couple more questions, please?
1) Did you need much convincing that HRT was safe to take?
Or, were you, well, just desperate (having tried the natural methods without success) and would have taken anything to JUST MAKE IT STOP!!!
2) How do your symptoms compare to what your mother had?
3) Would you take HRT if you didn't have any significant symptoms... as preventative care for heart and bones?
Hmm 🤔
Thank you for your help in advance! x
HRT HELP!
I'm keen to collect feedback from women who have started this medication in the last five years – since it was supposedly deemed safe...
Has it helped? How's it going?
(If you're not one to comment, it would be great if you could message me 🙏🏻)
Thank you for your help in advance 👊
At home on the range?
The serum range for Ferritin (stored iron) for a menstruating woman is: 15-200. You may be told that your blood tests are ‘within range’. (For example that you are ‘normal’ because your ferritin level is 24.)
This result may be adequate for some people, however if you also have low blood pressure or you are a shallow breather, then this combination reduces your overall capacity to provide oxygen to your body (and to remove carbon dioxide).
The overall effect would leave you feeling substandard but unacknowledged by a single blood test.
It pays to look at your health holistically rather in a compartmentalised way.

Are you doing Dry July?! I am 🤗
It's actually the very first I'm doing it...because my birthday is during this month. However, I finally think I'm going to be mature enough to handle not having a celebratory 'drinkie poo' this year🤞🏼😅
Anyhoo, this is something to consider when you get back on the grog –
Be a fussy drinker!
When you order a glass of wine (or purchase a bottle) that’s what you’re expecting to receive — a moderately intoxicating, relatively healthy, fermented grape beverage.
You’re not expecting to be presented with a vessel of substandard fruit, cane sugar, pesticides, animal residues, and high preservative levels.
This latter concoction is more likely to have pro-oxidant activity than anti-oxidant.
What I’m trying to say is: don’t expect that by swilling this stuff down that it will protect you from cancer, heart disease, stroke, and dementia!
How come nobody ever detects these foreign substances in their wine when they are doing all that sniffing, swilling, and spitting?
“I’m detecting a complex blend of dried swim bladder of fish, sulphites…”
“hmmm E220 — if i’m not mistaken…”
“a potent amount of alcohol, and I’m even picking up an ever so subtle hint of ‘pestacidic’ grape…”

Thank you VERY much to this glorious gal for mentioning her Naturopath in this piece she did for The House of Wellness!
It's super swell to be appreciated – and publicly, even! 😊

Cassandra (Cass) Woodhouse is one of the BEST people you will ever meet. If I was to describe her in three words: passionate, feisty, love.💃🏻👊🥰
She was terrific in her previous one-women show (Hanna) and now she's going to show us a grittier side in: Prima Facie. Here she'll be taking on the role of Tessa, a lawyer raising the conversation around consent, sexual assault and the current state of our legal system. “To tell her story and step into her shoes is to honour and give a voice to every woman who has experienced sexual assault,” she says.
I cannot wait! 🤗
I have huge R.E.S.P.E.C.T for this woman – she's a lover AND a fighter! ⭐️

Do you sometimes imagine...
When you're watching NETFLIX on 'telly'.
And you do a 'search' – where you move the indicator around the keyboard on screen to select a letter via your remote control buttons – that maybe you're the reason why somewhere out here, someone's Oujia Board actually works...?!
Yeah! Obviously, me neither🥴
I've just been researching the popularity of my natural health articles on GOOGLE.
These have been the Top 10 'kool kids' – over the last year!

This article's about what a controversial, challenging, yet highly rewarding area of health this is to work in.
Did you know that I do the most work with high dose iodine in NZ?! 💜
2) NZ Farmed Salmon
Here, I 'dis' this 'stuff' and call it "Surf and Turf"...and "Fish & Chicks" 😜
3) Nips & Stiffies
This one's on spirits (alcohol) & sexy times!
We have fabulous discussions about these combined topics at OOMPH 😂
4) My Antipodes review
'tis my take on this NZ beauty brand.
5) Green Smoothies – Part one
How I think these things are super daft!
6) Va**na!
How having one is not easy...and about how to insert probiotics to beat yeast infections 👍🏼
7) Functional testing
How I'm not a fan of these things!
8) Kvass
How I much prefer this stuff to daft Kombucha
9) Kombucha

Happy freaking Matariki! Woo – yeah! 🎉
I've just finished work for the day, and have cracked into my most favourite of beverages: Negroni (pre-made even!)
And it's divine!
It tastes like bloody ambrosia! 😍
Anyhoo, given it's NZ's unofficial official new year, I plan to make the most of this second chance at sticking to my resolutions!
I'm planning on being super virtuous from here on in!
Hmm, I hope that's not the Negroni talking...😜
Cheers to you and yours x

It also let's me know that you appreciate the work that I'm doing at OOMPH and on LISA SAID SO.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It makes my job worthwhile – it encourages me to keep doing what I'm doing 👊🙌
We really need to get some signs made, and put up...
Please know this everyone:
GP’s treat acute medical conditions
A&E doctors treat medical emergencies
Bloodwork checks for Pathology
(Pathology = sickness & disease. Blood tests don’t check for physiological imbalances OR the poor functioning of cells and tissues.)
And hear this, ya’ll:
Your doctor cannot:
Improve your immune system
Boost your energy
Promote correct digestion
Reduce your stress
Increase your ‘happy’, or
Help to regenerate your liver.
(Etc, etc, etc.)
That’s what Naturopaths are trained to treat — we’re the ones who are proficient in ‘lists’ of things 'wrong' with you x🙂
Last Saturday I had a client come all-the-way-up from Hastings specifically to see me! Today? Someone from Tauranga!
She has been reading LISA SAID SO for the last 2-3 years, and has been meaning to come and see me all this time👊
I’ve said it numerous times before, but I’ll say it again…please, please, please come to see me when you first feel you should! It will save years of unnecessary suffering xo
Dearest Gentle Reader
I finished watching the third series of Bridgerton in the weekend. And, I quite fancy myself as a 'Lady Whistledown'.
I reckon I could write quite a fascinating gossip column about the comings, goings, and goings-on of some of the (so called) former lead players in the natural health industry...😉
My nom de plume could be: Lady Sneakerfink x
On Saturday I had a client come all-the-way-up from Hastings specifically to see me!
She has been reading LISA SAID SO for the last 5-6 years, and following my advice 👊
Apparently I was on her "Bucket-List"!
No pressure or anything! 🫣😅😂💛
'Adult ADHD' really doesn't cut it
ADHD is an acronym for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
But ADHD is in dire need of rebranding for three good reasons:
Those with Adult ADHD —
1) Don’t have an attention deficit
In fact, this person has a super ability to focus… but only on things that are of interest to them! The real problem is being able to not focus on it, or trying to focus on something else.
2) Don’t always present with (overt) hyperactivity
Please see my article in the comments section.
3) Don’t have a disorder
They simply have a different type of brain to the neurotypical or standard issue brain.
And this is why you don’t medicate (all types of) ADHD, but rather you support the person who has it, as the world we operate in is set up for those with the dominant brain type.
Over the last couple of years, it feels like every other client I see at OOMPH has been freshly diagnosed with ADHD. What makes this particularly interesting is that I only work with adults.
I also hear from non-neurodivergent people exclaiming about the sudden explosion of adult ADHD. They’re wondering if it’s not just another trend – or even an excuse to justify ‘bad’ behaviour or poor performance!
So, I thought I had better get in there with my ‘two cents’ on the matter. And, rather than write a long LISA SAID SO article, I want to quickly get a few important points across to you.
Adult ADHD The sudden explosion of diagnoses | LISA SAID SO Lisa Fitzgibbon, Naturopath & Medical Herbalist, discusses the sudden explosion of adult ADHD – and why it's not a deficient or a disorder!
I just received this review from a good client/Violet Femme of mine! 💜👊🙌
"After years of struggling with headaches, nausea, and fatigue, I decided to try a natropath. Lisa was amazing she really listened. She recommended Lugols Iodine - which I couldn't find much about online. At first, I was a bit sceptical, but I figured I would give it 3 months.
And I am so glad I did. My energy levels rose, and hormonal symptoms of nausea, headaches, fatigue, and joint pain disappeared, and I felt fantastic.
Five years later, I am still happily using it. I am so glad I found Lisa. She is very holistic and seeks to find solutions that fit into your lifesfyle.
I can't recommend her enough, and I am very happy she is helping me navigate perimenopause."

I've got a new Well S**t snippet due out for you in the next day or so!
It's on this (seemingly) sudden explosion of Adult ADHD 🤓
Here's a wee segment from it:
You don't grow out of ADHD!
Not for the people diagnosed with this type of brain, and not for the people who unfortunately missed being diagnosed with this type of brain in their youth. Adult ADHD just presents differently throughout the life stages, and in response to what you’ve experienced along the way.
Now that the medical model has finally established this, they are essentially playing catch-up with their diagnoses.
Another one bites the dusk…
I've still got a few appointments available for June if you're keen to come and see me before the second half of the year begins...
Mustn't blink 😳
You've probably clocked the recent explosion in diagnoses for ADHD – especially in adult women!
I'm hoping to clarify some things in an up-and-coming article 🤓
'Some things' such as:
1) Why Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder needs a total revamp
2) Why the numbers of this 'disorder' have suddenly skyrocketed
3) Why adults can now have 'ADHD' and how it's been difficult to determine in females of any age
4) How you can go about getting screened, and then formally assessed.
5) What your options are if you diagnosed with ADHD
And whatever else I come up with between now and publishing 🤗
It was very sad to see that organic grocer, Huckleberry has gone into liquidation – although it doesn't come as a huge shock, unfortunately 😬
I've worked for Huckleberry twice over the last 20 years.
The first time was in 2004 when I was studying to become a Naturopath – I worked there part-time at their organic cafe: Berries (in Epsom, Auckland.)
The second time must have been in 2012?! I worked there part-time for about 4x years while I was building up OOMPH.
It's such a shame for Naturopaths, and for Naturopathic students, as sadly there are becoming less and less opportunities for them to hone their skills working with people on the 'shop floor' until they can build up their own full time practices 😢
Very stink one indeed.
