Whenuakura island 📍 - rich in Māori history and owned by local Iwi(people/tribe) The island is a wildlife sanctuary, a fragile and protected environment that you may only look at, not touch. It’s also the ancestral home of Ngāti Marama, the first Polynesians in the Whangamata area, and is a spiritual place to their descendants. What an experience! 😍

Lemon & Paeroa, commonly known as L&P, a soft drink created here in Aotearoa. Created in 1907, it was traditionally made by combining lemon juice with carbonated mineral water from the town of Paeroa. Yesterday we got to visit the little town 😌
