Hello and hi modern players. We are back again with an update for the current modern league standings. Conrad has taken us by storm with an early lead. Can he hold onto first place? Will the ring be banned? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? So many exciting questions. Stay tuned to maybe have some of them answered.

In other news we also have a big weekend for Magic. 10 players will qualify for the RC over in Sydney next March with a sealed city qualifier this Saturday and a modern RCQ on Sunday. Tickets for each available here:

Our second week of the Disney Lorcana Friday night league was last night and updated standings are below.

It was a busy night with the Magic the Gathering Duskmourn Prerelease also running but I am glad to say that we were able to fit everyone in without too much issue.

Ash continues his Jafar A Whole New World dominance and after facing it myself this week I can see why, it’s a tough deck to counter when you can reasonably quickly get your board state to a point where you can quest to 20 lore in one turn.

Tis the season to be spooky as we are underway with our Duskmourn pre-release. Our players are busy cracking packs and jamming games with the new house of horrors.

If you're interested in slinging some of the new sets cardboard then fear not, we still have three more flights of pre-release. One today at kicking off at 2:00pm and two tomorrow at 10:00am and 2:00pm.

And of course we're hosting our MTG Duskmourn Pre-Release at Hobby Master, haunting the store today at 3pm and 7pm, plus events on Saturday and Sunday at 10am and 2pm. These are $55 for each event and you'll get a prerelease kit (usually $65) plus a bonus Play Booster just for participating AND if you do well, you'll earn more boosters on top.

Can't make a prerelease? You can still join in on the fun. We have at-home prerelease events too. Just pop in to pick up your kit + your Booster to play at home when it suits.

Our Friday Night Lorcana league started off strong with Ash running a new and interesting deck using Jafar – Striking Illusionary and a Whole New World to gain a staggering amount of Lore per turn, will be interesting to see how the players respond to this new deck.

Congratulations to Juliette who picked up her winnings from the last league and was fortunate to pull an Enchanted Donald duck in the process, great card, absolutely love the enchanted cards from the Shimmering Skies set.

Welcome and good luck to those playing out our MtG: Bloomburrow Store Championship - Standard today. Our 21 players are vying for a pair of Urza's Saga cards, one of which is a custom stamped Hobby Master card, something only WPN premium stores (like us) can get a hold of.

It's an exciting day here in the store. We have the Flesh and Blood: Rosetta pre-release and players are eager to crack packs. If you missed out today then don't worry, the set will be hitting our shelves for full release this coming Friday.

Foil or non foil? Why not both?!

MtG: Bloomburrow Store Championship - Standard at Hobbymasternz is on on Sunday 15th September and the winner will get not one, but TWO full art URZA'S SAGA cards, one in foil, and another one -of-a-kind Urza's with the Hobby Master mark on it.

Additionally the top 8 will get two copies of Shark Typhoon, again one foil and one Hobby Master version. Participants will get a Monastery Swiftspear and a play booster pack of Bloomburrow to boot.

'Ello 'ello again modern players. It's that time again as we have finished our 43rd modern league. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to award Benji Twemlow as Modern Champion of the league. With the genius plays of Amped Raptor into Blood Moon and Twiddle target Lotus Field, he has reminded us to always expect the unexpected. Well done Benji, you've earned it.

If you're interested in in having your non-basic lands turned into mountains or islands, we run our modern league every Tuesday night at 6:30. As we have just wrapped up the current league, our next one kicks off next week on the 17th. So it's a perfect time to join in and we are always happy to take in new victims- I mean players.

Then on Sunday we'll be hosting our One Piece TCG - Two Legends Pre-Release at Hobby Master. Kicking off at 10.30am, this sealed event allows players to create their decks from the new set from 6 packs. Players will earn additional prerelease promo packs and vie for two Gold stamped Marco cards**

Can't make it on Sunday? We'll be hosting a second prerelease event on Thursday night in lieu of our normal store tournament.
