Made By Holly is hosting a fun school holiday bead workshop in Fantail & Turtle's Glasshouse next Wednesday, October 9th 🥰

Take some time for yourself, sign the kids up to sit tight and get creative designing & making their own unique friendship bracelets from 11.30am-2:30pm 🕊️

Tickets are $35 per person, inclusive of all beads & materials, as well as a house made non alcoholic soda and an item of choice from our Little Ones menu.

We start each shift with the goal to provide manaaki you can feel, and the simple truth we subscribe to is that our team can't look after our manuhiri at their best unless they're cared for by us, first.⁠

Our team are the heart & soul of the venue, we're incredibly proud of the experience they provide day in and day out, and so lucky to work alongside such a passionate, kind, caring, clever, resilient, optimistic & genuinely fun to be around group of people.⁠

While we still think we can do better, and probably always will, we'll take this as a nod we're getting at least a few things right in our intention to prioritise our people and concentrate on culture.

The elephant in the room is that this industry doesn't have the strongest reputation for how it can treat the people working in it, and unfortunately we've seen enough, heard enough, and been around long enough to know that's not undeserved.⁠

As the only hospitality business shortlisted (& now a finalist), hopefully we can encourage other venues that genuinely put their people first to put their hands up too. We know you're out there, and if we're really lucky, maybe we can contribute a small part in starting to change that narrative.

Without making this too much of a thing every time a fantail leaves the nest, last week our Emma spread her wings after an incredible 4 years with us.

Emma, it's the end of an amazing era - of endless laughter (& endless shift reports), hard mahi (& doing things the hard way), record days (& nights it's a good thing no one was recording), and we can't wait to see your transition from hospo gal to hospital gal (with the master's degree to prove it 💅🏻).

We love you, we'll miss you, we're so proud of you, we'll try not to bug you for a cameo shift for at least a week 🥰😅
