Recently in Pōneke we've had the opportunity to purchase an Electric Van, thanks to the generosity of Energy's Certified customers! 'Evie' the EV will enable us to rescue more good quality surplus food from all around the city, and continue our mission to feed bellies not bins.
With this electric vehicle, we can reach more suppliers and rescue more food efficiently. It’s not just about reducing food waste; it’s also about lowering our carbon footprint and contributing to a healthier planet.
Get in touch if you have any food you'd like to donate, and make sure to give Lauren a wave if you see her driving around on a food rescue !

🥳 Kicking off the week with good news about our take on a doggy bag that does good too. Decent Packaging NZ new Goodie Bowls are out! Serving the same awesome purpose as the Goodie Box, this new smaller Goodie Bowl is perfect for packing up any leftovers to take home after dining out. And yes, there are lids to help keep your food secure on the journey home to your fridge.
🤔 So, how does the Goodie Bowl work?
😪 1 in 6 Kiwis will go hungry this week. But you can help change that. The Everybody Eats x Decent Packaging Goodie Box and Goodie Bowl are a doggy bag that in a moment of too much food, asks you to think about those with too little.
❤️ Once you've put your leftovers in a Goodie Bowl, you can scan the QR code on the side of the Bowl, and make an optional $5 donation to Everybody Eats.
🤩 Then take your Goodie Bowl home to enjoy your delicious leftovers later.
🥗 Everybody Eats uses your donation to help provide a fresh three-course meal to a Kiwi in need.
What a good way - no, a great way! - to avoid food waste, pay it forward, and answer that midnight craving or next day, lunch time dilemma.
👉 No Goodie Bowls or Boxes at your favourite local restaurant? No worries! Send them to Decent Packaging NZ or to the link in our bio to get on board! Thanks!
🥳 We’re really LOVING the food scraps collection service across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, and the smarts and science behind it. Auckland’s food waste is undergoing an incredible transformation and will end up feeding and heating the city as it looks towards a sustainable future. Yay!
🤔 Did you know your food scraps bins that are collected and emptied weekly - with tea bags, meat bones, paper towels, fruit and vegetable skins, bread, dairy products and coffee grounds - get taken from the roadside to a pre-processing plant before being trucked to a purpose-built facility where the real magic happens?!
🧚♂️ Our collective food scraps are transformed into useful biogases and fertilisers. Bravo! So rather than all these useful nutrients being lost in landfill our food waste kai is growing more kai that’s kinder on the planet and all the people that live on it.
For a little bin, it’s making a BIG difference. Yep, we love that.

🤪 WOWSER. 30 sleeps until Santa rocks up! 🎅 Stuck on how and where to celebrate the holiday season? Spread some cheer with us! Grab your whanau, colleagues, family and friends and dine in, have a darn good time, and do good for Kiwis doing it tough. Every $10 donation pays it forward to feed a fellow Kiwi in need, at our place 👍
🏃♀️Walk-ins are welcome, and bookings for groups over 6 are recommended. Book here https://everybodyeats.nz/our-restaurants 🧑💻
🥳 Hope to see you around our table in Everybody Eats Onehunga and Glen Innes Sun-Thurs 6-8pm, and in Wellington Sun-Wed 6-8pm (with Thurs for private events). All welcome, always 🥰
👋 Hey you! It’s a Friday appreciation post. We’ve recently hosted our 2023 Fundraising Gala, and we're just coming up for air and down to earth now!
😍 Frankly, we were nigh overwhelmed by the aroha and generosity both in the room, and online with our fundraising auction. Thank you to all that attended, donated auction items, bid on auction items, sent well wishes and worked seamlessly and tirelessly behind the scenes - from the incredible band of volunteers, to the stellar suite of supplier partners, to the extraordinary team at that went above and beyond, and to our awesome Everybody Eats chefs, front of house and ops team that show manaakitanga every day.
🥰 We were also touched by the incredible generosity of our Gala event food and beverage partners. So we’d like to take the opportunity to give a shout out to those that pitched in to feed and water us, and to make this such a successful evening for our kaupapa, and our community.
🗣 More updates to follow. For now, three cheers for all our food and beverage partners. If you can support them, as they’ve so kindly supported us, that would be appreciated 👍
