WASHINGTON WAY RESERVE SKATE PARK
inner city christchurch skatepark Despite it's popularity and high use, the final stage is still to be completed.
Washington Way Reserve Skatepark opened in 1998 to give a place for skaters go following the Council's attempts to ban skateboaring through its bylaws within the central city. Designs have been done, the resource consent has been granted and the money has finally been put into the Council's 2012/13 annual plan.
Early engagement survey closes tomorrow on future provision of play spaces (including skateparks). If you have ideas about how Council can improve Washington Way and other skate facilities please fill it out!
How do you play? Tell us how you and your whānau play to help us get our play spaces just right. You can complete our survey until 31 August.
Council's existing Skateboarding Strategy (linked) is proposed to be replaced by a new Play Spaces Plan. Early engagement closes tomorrow. Link posted shortly.
