🔍 From Concept to Creation 🔍
Curious about how we design your bespoke piece? Here’s a glimpse into our design process: from initial consultation and sketching to crafting and final touches.

Every step is done with care and precision. Starting with the inspiration for Katrina’s piece, she brought several photos of rings she liked. We combined some of these elements on paper, working out all the dimensions for the new ring. Celebrating an amazing milestone Katrina chose Emerald for her centre stone.

We used CAD (Computer Aided Design) for this design, which allowed us to be very specific on all the details. Knowing we wanted to use an Emerald we contacted our supplier in Thailand who sources some of the best Colombian Emeralds I’ve found.

For Katrina’s ring we went with a Certified 1.60ct Emerald cut Colombian Emerald with a stunning colour. For such a beautiful green colour we went with a secure bezel setting to protect the Emerald this ring is in 18ct White Gold with 0.72ct VSI Round Diamonds to enhance the overall look. Putting everything together with a high polish on the ring to make every part shine. This ring was one of my recent favourites! This ring sure was a special piece and I hope it brings you joy like it did for me to make it and be part of this milestone.

We love being able to remodel your jewellery it's one of our favourite parts of our business. This remodel took our customer's rings from her 60 years of marriage and included her mother's engagement and eternity bands as well a cool creative consolidation of everything.

Not often I make something for myself, this Spartan Mask is 18ct yellow gold 18ct white gold, and Platinum hand-engraved by our engraver this is such a cool unique piece.

This stunning Toi et Moi ring has a fantastic Green Tsavorite Garnet and Pear Parti Sapphire in 9ct Yellow Gold such a beautiful colour!!

Do you love Opal? Opal is a stone we love to hate sometimes a softer stone so lends itself to a necklace instead of a ring with the way it wears over time. This Australian Opal is claw set on 18ct Yellow Gold such amazing colours.

Here is another fabulous ring with a tweak on my usual style this one is double-clawed 1ct+ Royal Blue Sapphire with 0.37ct Diamonds on a nice thick band.

Have you seen this style of ring before? It's called Toi et Moi which is French for You and Me. A two-stone setting, a Toi et Moi ring has come to represent the two souls of romantic partners. The gems will sit next to each other on the band as you stand beside your partner for life.

We recently created a collection of this style and will be showing them off over the next few posts.

People often ask about what our process is; we find that it's the stone which gives us inspiration to create the ring, so in this case we have a modified trilliant Sapphire stone from Sri Lanka.

Starting with a sketch, we then turn it into a CAD (computer aided design) drawing. We know the size we are making it, the width of the metal and all the dimensions of the stone, so we add all these little details to the design for the finished piece. Once we're happy with the CAD drawing it gets 3D printed by our casting house in Auckland, and then we use the wax lost casting method to have the piece cast in our desired metal, in this case 9ct White Gold.

Our little Lara update: our beautiful little girl is 7 months old now, she is rolling and eating and has two tiny (but super sharp) teeth. Lara is almost sitting up by herself, has the most beautiful smile and absolutely loves kisses all over her face. As you would all know we had a rough start with a 2 month stay in NICU, however since then she has gone from strength to strength and it all feels like a distant memory now. We can't believe we're more than half way to one, and we're so excited to see how much she learns and changes over the next few months ❤️

We just wanted to thank everyone that attended Encraftment Market over the weekend, we had a fantastic time seeing everyone!
