The UTSNZ 5x5 basketball championship will be held Fri 20th-Sun 22nd Sep in Christchurch. Trials for this event are on this weekend at Unipol (5pm-6.45pm Men’s and 6.45pm-8.30pm Women’s). Tertiary Days was on today and is on again tomorrow. We welcome all visitors and locals to our Otago campus! Come and see the Unipol Rec team at the Expo site in the Main Common Room/Union and join in the games outside the Union to win some cool merch! We hope you packed your workout gear and have time to use Unipol for free during your Ōtepoti stay or at the least enjoy a self-guided tour of our fantastic facility! Congratulations to the women’s and men’s University of Otago 3x3 basketball teams who both placed 3rd in the National Tertiary Championship last weekend in Rolleston. The women’s team also won the Spirit Award! Women’s team: Tyler Mitchell, Caitlin O’Connell, Tia Pavihi, Millie Simpson and Esteban Erdody (Coach). Men’s team: Joe Ahie, Dallas Hartmann, Oscar Hickey, Mikey Ruske and Antony Arlidge (Coach). 👏🏼🙌🏼 🏀

The University of Otago is currently looking to appoint a member to the UTSNZ Student Athlete Commission. University and Tertiary Sport New Zealand (UTSNZ) is an independent organisation that runs university and tertiary sporting competitions. The UTSNZ Student Athlete Commission is a group consisting of up to 11 members that represent the views of sporting students across New Zealand. As a Student Athlete Commission member you will represent the student point of view to UTSNZ, advise the UTSNZ board on student sport participation and achievement, build awareness of UTSNZ among students and help carry out student-focused initiatives at the University of Otago.
