Two weeks ago we lost a legend after a brave fight with gastric cancer. Our mate Matt Feaver was a genuine champion, a peoples person, son, father, bloody hard worker, and crunchy PB lover. We are going to miss him like crazy. He leaves behind his beautiful partner Tessa, and 1yo Maddie. If you are able to help support Tessa and Maddie it would be hugely appreciated. Matt was always there to support us and now we will get behind his family and show our love. Thank you.
Support for Matt’s Girls! Matt Feaver, gone too soon, forever loved!

Tomorrow we’ll be at the Christmas from 8am - 11am.
Thanks for everyone who has made the effort to come see us at the factory recently through the roadworks!

Last summer we supported a group of young alpinists on their mission to traverse the southern alps, from Arthur’s Pass - Milford sound. A 3 month journey through unpredictable and mostly untouched territory. When one of the team, Tom approached us with the plan and asked for some peanut butter for the journey, we couldn’t say no! They set on their way with around 70,000 calories worth of peanut butter (and some other food of course) all strategically placed in 10 food drops along the way. A couple of mishaps including almost not being able to find one of their food drops and having to spend a few days straight in the tent due to blizzards didn’t throw them off. Tom, Torea, Maddy & Conor, we applaud you for getting out there and doing it. So good to see young crew following their dreams and making them happen. We look forward to hearing what is next.
We’ve been quiet on here of late, mostly because we have been tethering on running out of jars for the past few months and did not want to do any unnecessary promotion of ourselves.. We have basically been running on only reused jars for the past 3 months which is pretty cool we reckon.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel though, our jars are almost here, so there will be peanut butter for Christmas 🎄. It was touch and go for a bit..
As always, we welcome you to bring your jars back so we can refill them with the good stuff and send them out on their merry way.
Thanks to all who make this happen. ♻️
A brotherly fight breaks out, who you got? Comment smooth / crunchy 👇
We’ll pick a random comment and send you a mask and a jar of PB to match. (NZ only).
Masks also for sale from the factory $15.
Due to a shortage of crunchy printed jars, crunchy will be hiding out in smooth printed jars for a little while, with a crunchy sticker over top so you know that it’s still crunchy, not smooth.
🥜
The jars are still be able to be returned to us and reused, exactly the same as always. Or if you have always wanted a smooth jar in your collection, but couldn’t bring yourself to buy smooth peanut butter, now is your chance 😉
We are back at the today along with a bunch of other vendors, selling fresh local produce!

Have a great weekend and
Happy birthday to Mark.. The man who makes your PB. Few years between then, and now. Good on ya mate. 🎂
We have decided to open again from our factory tomorrow, rather than being at the
We’ll be here 8am - 11am for your PB and SB needs.
We hope to be back at the market next weekend. Thank you!
Friendly reminder, we are open tomorrow 8am-11am for jars of fresh roasted peanut butter! Masks, scanning and keeping distance mandatory, empty jars optional (but highly encouraged, and commended). Thanks!
We didn’t quite get to open up last Saturday, but we will be this Saturday. The can’t open at L3, so we will open the factory up instead for contactless sales. 8am - 11am.
Please remember your clean jars for a discount off the next one.
More updates on hours going forward once we know what is going on.
Thanks!
If we drop a level tonight, we will be open down at the factory tomorrow morning 8am - 10am for PB sales (with all the safety measures in place).
If we don’t drop a level, then we’ll open up when we do drop a level, not tomorrow.
Jar swaps would be accepted (clean only, as always) and the empties would be placed in a box by you, so we don’t touch them for now.
Thanks! 🤞
We weren’t sure if we could sell online or not so have been holding off on promoting ourselves, but an article on Stuff] today about supporting local businesses that listed a bunch of ‘Otago’ businesses to support made us think we should put ourselves out there.
So here’s a little plug for ourselves, our online store is open for contactless delivery, nation wide. Thank you!
Stuff] get your facts straight. 90% of the businesses listed under the ‘Otago’ tab had noting to do with Otago.
Finally have some signage up at the factory, but still more to come. Once we have it all sorted we will look to have some form of opening party, maybe involving SUPERTOAST.
The ladies over at have a couple of our 1.8kg jars to give away! Head over to their page, find their latest post and follow the instructions to be in to win!
When they reached out to us we thought it was great to see them promoting cooking and eating some wholesome and nutritious meals in their flat, definitely a bit of a contrast to our flatting meals.. good work ladies keep it up!
Dunedin, our home. We are so grateful for this city and the support you show us. This is a shout out to all of the cafes / hospo joints who use and or sell our products. In our eyes they are the best in town. Here is a full list of places you can get Bay Rd on the menu (some seasonally)

These guys have been through it all the past couple years. Show them some love.
FYI, all of these places give their jars back when finished so we can use them again and again. 👏 👏 👏
Thanks team.
We are running pretty low on jars and lids and need a little help! If you have any Bay Rd jars (crunchy prints in particular) it would be super helpful if you could bring back any extras to the tomorrow.
The jar swap discount is one for one but if you have a heap or jars and can bring them to us tomorrow, we will figure something out.
While some company’s promote a way to repurpose their jars that they don’t really care about, here’s a list of 5 ways you can reuse your Bay Rd jars.
1. Bring them back to us so we can reuse them.
2. Bring them back to use so we can reuse them.
3. Bring them back to us so we can reuse them.
4. Bring them back to us so we can reuse them.
5. Bring them back to us so we can reuse them.
Thanks in advance!
Hello good people of Wanaka! It turns out you are all doing quite a nice job of eating our peanut butter, and then returning your clean jars to , so we can reuse them. So much so,
Freshlink have collected 6 boxes of empties in no time at all.
So we need some help..
We are on the lookout for a person who is traveling between Wanaka and Dunedin, and wants to carry back these 6 boxes. On arrival in Dunedin, you will be rewarded with a 1.8kg jar of smooth or crunchy, your choice.
If you do a good job and all the jars arrive home safely, maybe this can be a regular thing, and you don’t have to buy peanut butter any more.
Flick us a direct message if this is something of interest. Or tag a mate who you think could be up for the job!
Thanks in advance, Bay Rd & Freshlink.
Nice work to everyone who guessed our newest stockist correctly last week, this is of course Stewart Island, and the local Four Square is where you can find a jar of our peanut butter!
Sam and the team at the Four Square will be taking jars back and sending them back to us to reuse.
We have also sent it a bunch of jars of seconds PB to the Stewart Island Rakiura Environment Conservation Trust (SIRECT) who will use it to bait over 1000 rodent traps they have set up on the island. We will continue to do this as Rakiura works towards being totally predator free!
This photo is taken from outside of our newest stockist, first person to comment below with the name of the store, we will send you a jar of smooth and crunchy (NZ residents only).
Clue, it’s in NZ..
Guess away!
Who misses Factory Friday’s? And SUPERTOAST? 🙋
The good news is they will be back one day.. the bad news is we are not sure when just yet. We are still settling in to our new spot and finishing some work on the shop / frontage. But toast will be back, sometime. We look forward to sharing more of our new space in the near future and having some kind of opening soon. We’ll keep you posted.
Have a great weekend all.
