Bachelor of Nursing graduate Hank Bilous sharing his journey on the slopes, being the protagonist of short film The War on Style and his career as a Registered Nurse with RNZ.
Hank is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti. Of his choice to pursue nursing as a career, Hank reflected on professional skiing and how this led to his career as a Registered Nurse,
There was a meaning that I was craving and I felt that meaning calling to me, Nursing just felt like it fit the bill for me as an antidote to skiing in the way that skiing is super fun but completely selfish. Nursing is completely not about you, it’s all about the patient and that is what I was looking for. The attractive thing about nursing was that I could move within the profession as I grew.
Congratulations on the short film Hank!
