Did you know that your feet contain about a quarter of the bones in your entire body? With 26 bones, 33 joints and 100 muscles, each foot and ankle is a complex structure, intricately designed for incredible flexibility and strength.
During an average day of walking, your feet can withstand a force of more than a tonne, equivalent to a cement truck!
We think that feet are amazing! That’s why we’re so passionate about foot health / Podiatry

Tip of the day: Check your feet!
While we are unable to attend some of those regular appointments we still need to be mindful about what we can do at home - daily footcare is one of them.
Looking after your feet every day helps keep them healthy.

If you notice any changes to your feet, please make contact with your GP or podiatrist.
Are your feet and legs hurting more than normal during lockdown. Being barefooted too much maybe the problem. Standing and walking on hard surfaces for long periods in bare feet will overload the tissues causing pain. Wear shoes that are not old and worn out. Avoid overuse of thin soled flat shoes. Wear something with an arch support maybe a lightweight sports shoe or a supportive slipper. Stay safe. We hope our Dunedin clinic will be running again shortly.
Podiatrists say being barefoot all the time at home is *not* healthy—here's why Might be time to invest in some slippers.

Sports shoe lacing variations
Watch how you lace your shoes! It can make a big difference. It seems a more evenly distributed lacing pattern causes less thermal stress. Maybe those pulley lace systems aren't so bad after all?
