Featherston Community our lads take on Greytown this Saturday at home, it’s their last home game in the first round of the competition.

Featherston certainly turned on the beautiful weather. A great day for our visitors.

Firstly thank you to our college 1st XV teams St. Pats Wellington Town and Rathkeale for the awesome showdown of some great rugby to start with. Special thank you to Willie Leota for bringing this game to Featherston. Wonderful to see our community who came out to support the rugby and football. A great turnout by our community plus the encouragement and sideline cheering was just amazing.

To our Featherston Senior Thirds we’re really proud of each and everyone of you. It’s your first year together, progress is looking great. Keep your heads up lads, it’s a growing process and you will get better with every game.

A very big thank you to our two awesome ladies, Lisa Johnson and Jo Harlow for their support and dedication on fundraising for our junior rugby and junior netball.

On Saturday, 27th April the Hub Junior Fundraising Team ran a barbecue and a bake sale to raise funds towards our hub juniors. Wow blessed with our wonderful community who came out to support the fundraising.

Special thank you to Jessica Banks , Bellz Ginnane, Lyric Clifton-Sinclair, Lilly Padlie, Bobbieg Matenga, from Netball who also helped out. Thank you to our beautiful people who baked the goodies and you know who you are. So thankful to you all for the mahi. All proceeds helps our tamariki to take the field and netball court.

Again a big appreciation for all donations received on the day, your generosity is hugely valued.

Congratulations East Coast winning 28-10.

Today we had a huge crowd from our community come out to support our lads playing the first senior rugby match since about 4-5 years ago.

Wow guys we are extremely proud of you all. A great game to watch and support. You all played fantastic and exciting rugby. You may not have won today Featherston but you won the hearts of our community. Honour and Respect to each and everyone of you.

A pleasure and honour to see some of our young ones out there giving it their all, like Juddy, Rocky, Ardun, our league guys like Gareth Smith, Karl Cooper-Faye, players who played juniors for Featherston like Thomas Uatuku, Hemi Davis, Pati Ili and especially love seeing our communities getting out there to support Featherston.

Big thank you, respect and gratitude goes to our coach Milton Haira (Main Man) and William Sargent who have led this team with everything they’ve got. You two are very much appreciated and your work never goes unnoticed.

A special thank you to those men going out there and slogging it out on the field, you guys rock.

Again all respect to East Coast for making the trip to Featherston. Without other clubs joining in, there would be no sports in the Wairarapa.

Today we went to support our lads playing Marist, what a great display of a hard fought game. This team has explosive talent and a team of respectful young men. To say we are proud is an absolute understatement. Thank you showing courage and determination. We are right behind you all, supporting you 💯%.

Our first game, but showed you are a force to be reckoned with. Every game will get easier and the more you play and work together the better you’ll get.

Those of you guys that are playing, please go along and train on Thursdays and get yourself fitter for the season. It’s very important for your game and your wellbeing.
