Auckland and Northland will remain at Alert Level 4, to be reviewed on Monday 30 August. It is likely Auckland will stay at Alert Level 4 for a further 2 weeks.

This weekend, it’s important that everyone stays home to stop the spread of Delta.

Anyone with symptoms anywhere in New Zealand should continue to get tested.

Please continue to check locations of interest regularly: https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-advice-public/contact-tracing-covid-19/covid-19-contact-tracing-locations-interest

Testing centres including hours of operation can be found here: https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/covid-19/

Everybody aged 30 and over can book their COVID-19 vaccine. Go to www.BookMyVaccine.nz to reserve your spot.

Book My Vaccine | Ministry of Health NZ 26/08/2021

If you are 30 years and over you are now eligible to receive a COVID vaccination.

How does the COVID-19 vaccine protect?
The COVID-19 vaccine stimulates the body’s immune system to produce antibodies and other proteins that will fight the virus if you’re exposed to it. The vaccine helps prevent you from getting infected and having COVID-19 symptoms, or severe illness. This means one would have no COVID-19 symptoms or will have much fewer, milder symptoms and recover faster.
🦠 mRNA vaccines
The Pfizer vaccine (Comirnaty) is an mRNA vaccine that contains the genetic code for an important part of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus called the ‘spike protein’. Spike proteins are the little projections on the surface of the virus.
Once you’ve had the vaccine, your body reads the genetic code and makes copies of the spike protein.
Your immune system detects these spike proteins and learns how to recognise and fight against COVID-19. It knows it needs to attack the virus to protect it from spreading in your body.
The genetic code then gets broken down and removed very quickly and easily by our body.
❌ Vaccination does not cause Covid 19
mRNA vaccines do not contain any of the virus that causes COVID-19, or any other live, dead or deactivated viruses. The vaccine CANNOT give you COVID-19 and does not affect your DNA.

No matter what Alert Level we’re at, healthcare like GPs and cancer services will always be available. It’s best to call before you go, so you know what to do when you get there – you might need to use a certain entrance, or wait in your car until called.

For any non-urgent services such as physiotherapists, dieticians or dentists, please call to confirm your appointment first.

If you are having a baby soon, there may be some changes to the way you receive care, including restrictions on the number of people you’re able to have with you.

Thanks to all our health and disability workforce and vaccination staff for all that they do. 💛

More information about accessing health services in all Alert Levels can be found on the UniteAgainst COVID website: https://covid19.govt.nz/health-and-wellbeing/how-to-access-healthcare-and-emergency-services/ -an-emergency

Happy Easter 🐣

14/02/2021

Hello lovelies! Well it’s Alert Level 2 so here are our guidelines. Please share with your support workers. Kia Kaha RCFW. We’ve managed to keep this out of our homes by working together and am so proud of that. I’ve attached the Ministry of Heaths guidelines. The main points are wash hands, sanitise when you come into the house and make sure everyone is using the QR code’s in each property. Take care ❤️.

Under Alert Level 2, extra precautions will continue and visiting Ryder Cheshire Foundation Waikato facilities will be managed in a controlled way to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission to residents and your staff.

Public health measures underpin the alert level framework. Along with general health advice focussed on personal hygiene and cleaning, the measures include contact tracing, testing, isolation and quarantine and border restrictions.

At Alert Level 2

• Basic hygiene measures (hand hygiene, cough and sneeze etiquette and avoiding touching face).
• Keeping a record for contact tracing purpose. RCFW enables contact tracing by displaying QR codes so people can use the NZ COVID Tracer app.
Staff and visitors should stay at home if unwell and call their general practitioner or Healthline (for free) on 0800 358 5453 if they have COVID-19 symptoms and arrange to get tested.

PPE
Personal protective equipment should be used correctly and safely in accordance with the Ministry’s guidance for health and disability care settings.

Care services/activities restrictions in place at Alert Level 2:
• Visiting:
o A record of all visitors (including support workers) into the facility should be kept. We have QR code’s as sign in registers in all our homes.
o General family visits and non-essential service visits are allowed, however all must record their visit and under no set of circumstances come into a home if they are feeling unwell.
o Visitors must follow the Ministry’s and the facility’s infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, for example, hand hygiene and physical distancing.
o Visitors should stay at home if they are unwell, under investigation of COVID-19 or a close contact of someone who is a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case.
o Visitors must follow the Ministry’s and the facility’s IPC measures, for example hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE as required based on risk assessment.

• Resident’s family/other outings, day programmes, health promotion activities and other community supports:
o These activities may resume following public health measures.
o Gatherings are restricted to 100 persons.
o A record of where residents have been should be kept for contact tracing purposes.
o People shouldn’t go out if they are unwell. When they are out, they should follow public health measures.

12/08/2020

Hello lovely residents.
We have unfortunately moved into COVID-19 alert 2.
What this means for each house is as follows:
1) ALL visitors are to sanitise their hands before entering your house.
2) ALL visitors are to register at each house by the clipboard or Q code. Even if the visitor isn't in a communal area.
3) ALL visitors are to stay away if they have any sickness, cough, runny nose.
4) Physical distance when shopping and record where you've been. The app is great for this.
5) Wash your hands.

Thankyou for your support on this.
Let's stay safe together.

Kia kaha
