#BIOSECURITY #ENVIRONMENT #WAKAAMA #INDIGENOUS @wakaamanz has implemented strict biosecurity protocols in order to minimise the spread of the Freshwater gold clam found in the Waikato river earlier this year. The clam found widely across Asia produces 400 off spring and day and has been found extensively through out the Waikato river, up to Lake Karapiro. However, the Te Puku o Te Ika regional waka ama competition was an opportunity to action new protocols. Garth Watene with this story.
