We are BillyMoose Faceworks and we provide hassle free and cost effective entertainment for birthday parties and events for Hamilton and the surrounding areas. I have been freelancing as a makeup artist since 2011 and have been behind the scenes for many a blushing bride in the past but facepainting has offered me the creative outlet and freedom of expression that I have left dormant since I had m

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the weekend online with some amazing artists for the Halloween summit 2023. I have always been a bit scared to tackle the skull design, and I can confidently say that after the course, I am no longer afraid to try. I have been putting in a few more hours practice than usual, and I'm so excited to share my practice designs with you all. Being one of the busiest times of the year for a facepainter, I am happy to be able to add these new techniques to my menus.
If you have a Halloween event coming up, why not consider going all out and hiring me to transform you into the monster of your dreams.
'Pacita Abad was a celebrated Filipino artist. Characterized by her rhythmic repetitions of form, pattern, and colour, Abad's work shifts between abstraction and representation while consistently employing the rich reds, purples, and yellows of Islamic Filipino textiles and culture. Notable for developing the technique ofΒ trapuntoΒ painting, a re-interpretation of Italian quilting techniques, Abad began stuffing her later canvases with culturally charged items such as shells, textiles, and mirrors, and also began affixing them to the surface of her amalgamate works.'

Phewwff!! What a day! I had birthday parties back to back, and man, was it full on. 2 vastly different kinds. One with all the bells and whistles and large in scale, the next one quiet and intimate with a much smaller group of kiddies. Got some snaps from the 1st party, but due to the privacy of the 2nd group, I was only able to snap the one who was an adult and permit me to use her photo for socials.
One thing I value is the need for privacy in this day and age, so getting permission from parents to use their child's photo is an absolute must, and there is absolutely no obligation to say yes. You can trust that I will always respect your decision to decline. Protection of our children should be our number one priority.
'Ai Weiwei is the most famous Chinese artist living today. As an activist, he calls attention to human rights violations on an epic scale; as an artist, he expands the definition of art to include new forms of social engagement. In a country where free speech is not recognized as a right, the police have beaten him up, kept him under house arrest, bulldozed his newly-built studio, and subjected him to surveillance. He is viewed as a threat to "harmonious society." The West did not invent revolutionaries. China has an illustrious history of dissidents, anti-authoritarian originals, and eccentrics, from the drunken monks of pre-history to counter-culture artists living in today's Beijing Ai himself is from this long line of free-thinkers and writers, marginalized both by the right and left. From smashing an ancient vase to reciting the names of children who died due to government negligence, Ai's dramatic actions highlight the widening gap between the ideal and the real in Chinese society. He is also one of the earliest conceptual artists to use social media - Instagram and Twitter, in particular - as one of his primary media.'

Stoked to be attending this for the 2nd time. Last year was so informative and helped up my game for the Halloween period so much that I just had to do it again. With new presenters and new designs I'm so looking forward to it.
Most excited about the Horror for kids class with Heather Saxon-Porter!!

The sweetest little birthday party. A lot of apprehensive little people. I get it. It's pretty daunting having a stranger up in your face, invading your personal space. The paint is often cold, and it feels a bit weird if you've never had it done before. I understand. Facepaint isn't for everyone, and you know what? That's ok. There's absolutely no pressure to have one done. On this particular occasion, it was the birthday girl who adamantly chose not to be painted and gave me the most spectacular grumpy face when I asked if she was sure.
Had the best night celebrating a girlfriends 40th this weekend. The masquerade theme made it impossible for me to resist the opportunity to bust out the paints and get creative. Nothing better than being your own live canvas. I had a lot of fun doing this and getting dressed up, and of course who could complain being on the arm of this gorgeous beast who was looking very dapper in his formal getup.
Also, I highly recommend trying this out if you ever have to attend a masquerade party. While everyone else spent the night readjusting and peeking through small eye holes, I was hands free and remained in theme πΆ all night long πΆ

My daughter is in a school production of Aladdin Jr this year and naturally I'm gonna put my hand up to do some of the character makeups. Trialing out Genie and Jafar has been so much fun. The sultan and Iago are on the list but given the time it took me to put these together I may have to get more hands on deck.
You may have seen me teaming up with Anneke from the past couple weeks as we are painting for the chiefs this season. As fun as the games are, it's nice to be able to take a breather with some birthday parties and events where 'speed' isn't the name of the game. I love it when kids get creative and take my designs to new levels by changing up their colour preferences. Who said turtles have to be green?

Happy new year everyone.
Bookings towards the end of last year were hectic for me with Christmas parties, end of year celebrations, camp and even a day at the races on the books and then I took a bit of a social media hiatus while my kids were on holiday but they have just finished their 1st week back at school and I have to say I am pumped to be back doing what I love. Starting with a birthday party tomorrow, I cannot wait to get back into it.
If you need a facepainter or you're thinking of getting one please get in touch. March-May is almost already fully booked. Don't miss out.
Parties happening all over the place at the moment. If you are thinking of having a facepainter for your Christmas function, better get in quick as my calendar is rapidly filling up. Will be working on my Christmas design menu so watch this space.
I've just reached 200 followers! Thank you for continuing to support me and my small business. I could never have made it without each one of you. ππ€π
A couple weeks ago I attended an online Halloween summit for facepainting. Some of the world's most prestigious facepainters offered tutorials on some of their design work, giving us step by step instructions. Here are just some of the designs we worked on. I didn't manage to get through them all but will definitely be practing the skills learnt during the summit. To top things off, I was also one of the 21 winners for the Halloween competition they ran scoring myself a pretty neat cake makers kit from . Thanks to for the awesome experience. I'll definitely be using these new skills on the job.ππ
Very pretty designs for these little ladies this week. Unicorns, butterflies and fairies with the exception of madam unique who requested a female thor. My favourite is the Harry Potter unicorn. What's yours?
