Mitre 10 bbq Rainbows End fundraiser. Thanks fo everyone who came out to support
Had the privilege of taking some of our rangatahi on a kayaking trip out at lake Karapiro. An awesome thank you trip for all the amazing things these young people have done
As a group, the girls have (for the most part) decided to embark on the Tongariro Crossing walk at the end of the year. To build upto this we have decided to start going on walks exploring the north island, starting with the amazing walks in our own backyard of the Waikato region.
Here’s a walk a couple of us did at the start of February in Pirongia.
Come along to the car boot sale tomorrow morning 8am-11:30am, granted we stay at level 2 or 1. Youth street will be having a car wash and bake stall with coffee
Spent the evening with some of our lovely girls “attempting” to bake cinnamon buns. Two of th girls have a passion for cooking so we meet up and create some new things as often as we can
Just a little update. Alongside our usual mentoring, Ramon and I (the youth street mentors) have been working at the Good News Community Centre in collaboration with kaivolution, making up food parcels (with of course protocols) for families in Nawton and surrounding areas.
It’s so important during this time that we all stick together to help our rangatahi and their whanau to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible. So call your friends, family and neighbours. Stay connected.
Welcome to contact me on 0279055180 or [email protected] for inquiries on mentoring 😊
Keep it up Waikato, not too long to go now, and stay safe!
Kia ora everyone. I hope your all staying safe and staying inside in these uncertain times.
Our Youth street mentoring programme is still fully operational, were just moving online for a bit. I think this would be the perfect opportunity to provide support to the youth in our community through the isolation period.
I think that right now services like mentoring re needed more than ever, and am more than willing to help youth in need in newton and the surrounding communities.
So haere mai, for anyone interested, or who knows anyone that would be interested in joining our now online delivery programme you can contact me at 0279055180, or [email protected]
We can provide youth with goal setting, establishing a plan to keep busy during lock down, mini workshops on things like time management and wellness (very useful right now), and just being someone to talk to and vent to and to help with motivation.
Let’s stand as a community to enable our youth to thrive best they can and stay motivated during this time.
Kia kaha, well get through this together.
Kia mihi
Jess
Merry Christmas from us to you. Hope everyone is having a good rest week. We’re excited to get back into the youth in our community next year, back on January 13th. If you know any young people in the nawton area who’d benefit from our mentoring program then flick us a message and we’ll get back to you asap. There’s still spots for 2020, particular for boys. So if you think you could benefit from some mentoring, contact us, we’d love to work with you.
Youth street is a mentoring programme designed to support youth aged 14 and older who are still at school at the time they enter the programme, and we fully support them until they either study for a year, have full time work for a year, or Turn 21. We help with goal setting and planning, workshops to help you transition out of school, assist towards employment or further study, and any other areas you would like support in.
The only criteria is you have to be enrolled in school live in the Nawton or Crawshaw areas Hamilton at the time you start the programme.
Heres our brochure and a link to our online sign up sheet. Alternatively you can flick us through a message on here.
