Today’s treadmill fun is all about the ability to be able to activate and stabilise through movements with less stability than normal as I would normally do this on the field and slow down through the transitions but having the treadmill set at 5 makes me maintain the speed throughout which will then transition through to moving faster on the field.
Nice little snippet of me testing out how well my new headphones handle my training.

20sec sprint 40sec rest after a 5min warm up starting at level 12 then every sprint go up a level
Got to level 20 and that maxed out the machine so ended up doing 4 of them then and that was the 4th that I almost couldn’t keep up 🥺
After that dropped down a level a sprint to cool down
That sucked but was so worth doing as I hadn’t done it in a year
It’s not just about being fast in a straight line that’s going to improve your game.
Being about to change direction fast and smooth is key followed by
The ability to move your weight smoothly through your hips side to side keeping your balance allows you to move faster and be more invasive when attacking
When defending it allows you to slide faster so that you can maintain staying square in front cutting down their options

Some people think I’m just a coach that’s all about just killing my clients because I find it fun which isn’t the case I believe in pushing them out of there normal zones to build there mental toughness. How can you really no what you can do it you haven’t been to a dark place and come out of it as if your never failed have you ever given 100 percent. When you have It doesn’t just change on how you look at your training it flows out into other aspects of your life.
Moments like this is what I live for, It’s at that point when your pushed so hard your body goes into that fight or flight mode and you find out what your made of .

So after a reality check from doing a boxing session on the Saturday woke up Sunday and decided it fix my own bad habits
First drill I have my lead foot on a slider so that I have to use my glutes more and stay more up-rite and balanced
The wall drill is to remind me to throw straight and not over throw so that I remain balanced
There’s always something you can learn or do to get better if you stay humble and hungry.

Was also a nice reality check for me to work on my own boxing as it is something I love to do but have stayed away from it due to my Achilles injury.

THESE PRESS UPS are a great way to see if core is strong . Core is your foundation is one of my key sayings along with don’t be held back by preconceptions of thinking I’m this size I can’t do that.
I’m around 140kg and I still push the boundaries every day
My point is stop making excuses try and if you fail then so what at least you tried
Great weight dril for boxing
Progressive loading press using chains so i can strain throughout the movement without over loading my weak areas.
Then followed by 4 explosive medball slam press to make the body still move fast.
Just one of my rugby drills for me working on putting my head on the rite side with the rite footwork
