Christmas ham reinvented

The great thing about the good old kiwi Christmas ham is that a) it seems to last forever and b) you can dress it up in a million different ways so that you never get sick of it.

Our favourite reinvention is the classic ham sambo - on Baked foccacia.

If you are hoping to purchase sweet treats, bread or literally anything else from us this weekend we strongly suggest you get in early - by the height of our pre-order stack it seems like every Christmas table in Hawke's Bay might have a little something from Baked on it.

We are open today (Friday), tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday from 9am - 2pm and would love to see your festive faces before we close our doors until January 5th.

If we don't get to see you, thank you all for your incredible support since we reopened and relaunched as Baked. We have loved feeding you all and look forward to cracking back into it in 2024.

It's Friday, it's the end of school holidays, it's spring, it's sunny - it is quite possibly the best day ever.

Celebrate all of the above today (or tomorrow, or Sunday, or Monday) with something delicious.

You are all well aware that we have cabinets teeming with mouth watering treats, but we also back our sammies very strongly.

There ain't any half filled, limp lettuce, soggy sambos up in our house - only sexy sandwiches are served here.

With a new member joining the Baked and Central Fire Station Bistro gang literally any moment now, today will be our last day open until Friday 1 September.

Chef Sam Clark is on the tools, so get in before 2pm to pick up all the supplies required to get you through the next 18 days.

Cheese scones are food for the soul.

On this cold, dreary, wintery day why not pop in and warm up with one of our famous smoked cheddar scones.

Warmed and served with the CFS brown butter these are comfort food at its finest and lets be honest - we all need a bit of comforting at the moment!

Introducing - BAKED.

From Saturday 1 April we will be bringing BAKED to Napier.

Think of it as Flora's Cake Studio with a little extra sumthin' sumthin'.

Of course you will have all of your favourite Flora treats (ahem....cheese scones), but you will also get the added bonus of a bunch of other delicious baked goodness.

We may have stolen Dan, the Central Fire Station Bistro pastry chef man - and put him to work for us, so if you ever dreamt about stealing some sourdough, tried to ferret away a financier or attempted to kidnap a cake from the restaurant - now you can simply get one to take away from BAKED.

We are enormously excited to see all of your faces again from next weekend.

TWO WEEKENDS LEFT!

Not to cause mass hysteria or anything, but there is only two more weekends left for you to drown yourself in the deliciousness that is our cabinet creations.

We've been cooking up a surprise.

It has been a busy year in the kitchen at Flora's, and we have just taken our most important order to date - weirdly for a cake shop, you'll find a bun in our oven.

Simultaneously to making your beautiful and delicious cakes, Flor has been busy cooking one of her best creations yet - a younger brother or sister for Lachie.

So while she puts the finishing touches on this project, sadly Flora's Cake Studio will be shutting its doors - for now.

Both the cafe and cake orders will be closed at the end of this month.

We thank all of our wonderful clients for your support over the last few years, and we look forward to coming back with gusto in 2022.
